What would David Cameron be able to do if he were here? The Home Secretary is on duty and it is her area of responsibility.

He's reducing the police force, as clearly we have too many of them.

THe more police we have, the more they annoy the criminals and therefore we have more riots.

      Reduce the police! Simples. :D

Exactly. Cameron is good for sound bites and humiliating Miliband at PM questions. That's about it.

Do you have a source for issues in Croydon? Not seeing anything on the news channels.

Much as we'd all like him to join in the requiem for purley way, he's washing his hair in goats milk in toscana. Leave him alone.

Cameron had to stay on holiday so he could make amends to the waitress he didn't tip - he's done that so he can come home to the next issue on his list! :)

It's all a question of priorities, obviously!

        Oh please!!

He is cutting them due to our massive debt which is the legacy of New Labour..

New Labour is to blame for all this.

oh crap that fire in Croydon has managed to jump across the street. Loads of buildings are going to go up now. This is going to need aerial water drops to put it out.

What is Cameron supposed to do? This is the result of generations of kids who have never known what discipline means, they don't respect authority, or anyone' person or property and until sane people stop listening to the academics and do gooders and get back to some good old fashioned discipline nothing will change.

These feral morons know that they can pretty much do what they like and get away with it, at most those arrested will get a slap on the wrist sentence, the police have to go soft incase they are accused of brutality and the parents of a lot of these kids are too lazy, thick or both to know or care what their kids are up to.

The only thing Cameron can do is to try and get parliament to pass new laws, so that public disorder of this type carries a mandatory jail term, give the police powers to use water canon, or maybe bring the army in.

I agree with the people suggesting parliament needs to be recalled. This s**t is getting very real.

Got a family member who lives near the area, she is worried as hell and is staying strictly indoors, just spoke to her via Facebook. Why the hell should people feel like this in their own homes?

How the f*ck people can try and excuse the people responsible for this is just beyond me.

Rumours on twitter that that New Cross is kicking off?

Great CNN are reporting it now. Looks like the whole world is going to know.

I do think Cameron needs to get his arse back in Britain and get this sorted out.
