Who remembers the original Galaxy 101 when at 9pm each night we had a dedicated local-based dj playing really great music - I remember Jody Wisternoff, um and thats about it. Im sure someone else will refresh my head.

Tristan B, ex-Radio Bristol, and now living in Ibiza. Leg-end. As are Jody Wisternoff, DJ Die, Roni Size and Krust. Also, there was the 3PM show with DJ Lynx etc, and when Jody and Die went their seperate ways, Jody carried on doing the Way Out West show. By that time, Galaxy had become Galaxy 101 and Miranda was in the hot seat, with Tristan running things behind the scenes.

Mixmag started in the mid 1980's (84 i think) so i would hardly class 1996 as an early issue

Yeah - I got it mixed up with 'Muzik' Magazine.

Why has the kisttory mix been dropped from the kisstory hour?

It was one of the best parts!

I used to listen to Street Boy host Kisstory on Kiss 100 quite a few years back. The show used to go out Sundays 6.00 - 8.00pm. I thought it was way better than Dance Anthems on Radio 1!

I wonder what Kiss Fridays will be like tomorrow, in that case?

I hope tomorrow there's some real oldskool tunes in that they normally don't play, usually it's the same stuff, especially in the kisstory hour, considering there's so much more they could play

when galaxy radio became the regional galaxy 101 it was a breath of fresh air with specialist shows like Deli J and Bob Prince's Disco Dynamite on a Sunday morning and the soul show on a sun eve just fab. Those were the days when they put the news on at 5 to the hour so when other stations had their news on and peopel retuned Galxy would be playing songs...tehe. And of course I loved the concept that the Galxy TSA was the fictional Metroplex....just proving that radio really is the theatre of the mind

Much later of course was Conroy's shows especially the Sunday Thing....I SO miss that!!
