All that film will do is encourage anorexics to eat less and purge more. It's the nature of the disease to make you want to be the thinnest person ever.

The only person who can cure it is the sufferer themselves. They have to find something they really want to in their life which means they need to be strong and healthy.

This isn't always possible. I was lucky.

Oh that poor woman. Honestly I blame the media for all of this body image malarkey, damaging people's self esteem.

This also goes for boys/men who have to muscle up just to be accepted etc.

    It is such a shame.

That was difficult to watch. Poor woman.

She actually looks like a walking skeleton.

    Unbelievably sad.

All the people think suggest anorexia could be cured by the sufferer "just deciding to eat" should watch that video.

I'm sure you didn't mean it this way, but surely the shame is that her life has been ruined by her illness, not that she's no longer 'beautiful'?

If she hadn't been beautiful it would still be a shame.

I know what cjsmummy was meaning, we have an Eating Disorder ward at work, the girls on it are just walking skeletons, it's so sad to see. In their bedrooms their walls are plastered with photo's of family and friends and a lot of themselves too, all those girls were beautiful, the shame is they don't see it that way, all they see or saw is ugliness.

She is an adult woman who made a video with a serious intent. Yes, people might 'gawp' for the shock value, but that doesn't make it disrespectful to watch. It is quite shocking that she has had so many emails from people wanting to know 'how she did it' so they can do the same.

I don't know who exactly you think is going to give you brownie points for comments like this but you are way off the mark.
This woman made the film in order for people to 'gawp' at it and hopefully learn something from it. So, I'm not sure what your point is.

Why shove it on here unless it's to see a walking skeleton. Same as the Siamese twin thread. You might have a caring attitude but most of the time people put items like this on DS for their shock value. It's as I once said before, freak shows are outlawed but we still need our fix these days and get it from things like this while pretending it's 'human interest'.

littlemunchin's twitter, all jokey and positive, then that last tweet about not having the energy any more, is really heart breaking. :(

Why not? This is the General Discussion section and threads like this can easily lead on to interesting discussions and debates about eating disorders. If no- one wants to 'gawp' at the video then fine, they don't click the link. It's simple really.

Or let me guess, you've previously seen posters jokingly posting about their mock "outrage" so you're now trying to play to the crowd?
