Excuse me if this thread has been done before - I did a search but couldn't find one.

What in your opinion has been the worst ever winning Eurovision song?

Mine has to be this dirge from 2007 - Serbia

Link doesn't seem to work - you may have to cut and paste.

    You're being serious?
Hehe thats the only Eurovision Winners song I listen to quite frequently :P

For me the most awful and atrocious winner's song is Running Scared. Just cannot stand how they won.

I disliked the majority of the early 00s wins. Estonia, in particular stands out as being dreadful. I didn't really watch Eurovision prior to 2005 time, and my "earliest memory" was Greece's win (in terms of what I can actually remember. I do recall hearing on the news about the UK winning, but I wouldn't really call it a Eurovision memory, if you know what I mean?).

Worst winner out of all of the years I've watched since that is, by far and away, Finland. Utter crock of crap!

    Latvia 2002 was atrocious.

Molitva was a fantastic winner though!

    Turkey in 2003 was bad.

Russia in 2008, I don't even know how he got through the semi finals let alone won!

I didn't like Rock and Roll Kids in 1994 as much as some of Ireland's previous winners but it was completely overshadowed by Riverdance anyway.

Oh and Running Scared, Eric Saade was robbed!

I'm sure this will be a very unpopular opinion on this site, but I don't like most of the winners from the UK. Boom Bang a Bang is probably my least favorite. It's so annoying. And Puppet on a String gave me nightmares.

totally agreed - Dima Bilan's song from 2006 was much better - especially in the original version

I haven't been a great fan of the UK winning entries either, and felt the 90s were where the best UK songs came from. Love Shine a Light definitely isn't my favourite of them either.

I haven't like many of the winning songs but I have a special place of dislike for virtually every Eurovision winner from the early 00's. In fact the only song I've truly enjoyed winning was Euphoria.

If I was to narrow it down I'd say Dima Bilan's win was my least favourite winner of recent memory, and wouldn't have disliked if he won with his actually decent song in 2006 instead.

Tempting to give another vote to 'Believe' but I'm going to choose 'Diggi Loo Diggi Ley' by Herreys (Sweden 1984)

My least favourite of all time is probably Russia in 2008 , I also really didn't like Estonia's winner or Latvia's either , also thought 1997 UK winner was very boring and thought ( although I'm a little biased haha ) that Fiumi di Parole should have won easily!

Most of the time I end up liking, or at least appreciating the winning song after the contest, when all the hype has died down.

Having said that, I will never see the appeal of Running Scared.

Fairytale is my favourite winning song of the 2000s!

Other ones I hate are Ireland's Rock and Roll Kids and Linda Martin's Why Me? Why indeed!
