Rylan has the talent of being Rylan: Ross took his opportunity to develop into this Rylan media individual and is succeeding. From what I have seen of his X Factor tour performances on youtube he is an enjoyably talented stage performer outside of what he produced on the X Factor tv show, able to stand and deliver. He unquestionably has stage presence which is the ability to command the attention of the audience. It's a rare commodity, lucky chap.

The fact he is so divisive a character only assists his position as it makes him even more noticeable and therefore serviceable because it makes media want to talk about him which brings headlines. Within headlines see employable gold. :)

This, this, and again, this. :)

There is a report in Sunday Life (a Northern Ireland weekly newspaper) ahead of the visit of the X Factor Tour headed "Workaholic Rylan is getting no sleep".

    A few sentences from it:
Rylan is more than happy to work around the clock to pick up a hefty pay cheque while he is still popular and his management are organising night club appearances on the same nights as his (X Factor Tour) performances.
Apparently Rylan is so shattered some nights that he he can't sing live but he is worried that if he doesn't work hard the public will lose interest in him.
" Rylan is worried that his five minutes could be up at any time" said a source. "He's grabbing as many chances and making as much money as he possibly can now."

We can't accuse him of not working hard.

Rylan is not singing live on the XF tour?

That's definitely his USP, 'hard work'.
I think that article pretty much sums it all up.
Enjoy him while you can folks, the most hardworking man in showbiz. He must be raking it in from those nightclub appearances

I'm surprised the XFactor bosses allow Rylan to do that, seems very unprofessional.

It appears his management doesn't believe he has much longevity.

    And they're most probably right.

Yep, and if he keeps working hard the world could be his oyster...well, the WHS in Brent Cross at any rate.

These are not the "good old days" of decades ago when singers would stand still on stage to perform. They are now expected to prance and jump about the stage in a way that makes it difficult to sing properly. As a result many pop singers, including the most successful, mime during at least parts of their stage performances. Audiences seem to accept this so long as the track that the artist is miming to was recorded by him or herself.

So a singer miming to his own recording is not such a big deal. Audiences are there for the total performance which includes the visual as well as the audio aspects, and of course the performer's personality.

I assume that an audience would prefer a decent sound, even though recorded, rather than a poor sound from a singer whose voice is bad at the time.

Well that's almost as disappointing as learning that Rylan was not in the Big Brother house 24/7. Is that when Rylan would've recorded his tracks, or were they recorded during his stint on XF?

Maybe they are aware of his popularity so are making the most of it ... and Rylan is ensuring his popularity by doing appearances so the public stay behind him for his future.. Giving him a strong fan base

Hopefully he will take a break after XF Tour before his schedule has a deleterious effect on his health.

I don't know. I assume that all singers on the XF Tour have their tracks recorded as a precaution, perhaps during rehearsals.
