I don't have a mobile phone so am looking to get an email notifier for my outlook/hotmail account that I use in windows 7, mozilla firefox. This would be useful to have when online.
This is the one that looks tailor made for the job i.e. for windows 7 and was recommended to me.

However, as I went to download it, I got a warning sign from McAfee saying 'potentially annoying download detector' which might contain virus spyware and other potentially unwanted programmes that could damage my hard drive. I don't know how to appraise the likelihood of this happening.
I have Malware bytes anti-malware so am I OK or should I heed this warning?
I was also recommended another email notifying download - Howard email...but I see the download is a zip file. I thought zip files are not accessible or is there a way of making them so?
If neither of these 2 downloads is suitable, what would be a good one to use for windows 7 and my anti viral software (McAfee and Malware)?

Malwarebytes scan on the file was clean.
Virustotal.com upload says it is clean (bar 2/56).

Create a Restore Point first as good practice.

I would also advise a full image backup just to be sure before installing. Generally if you get an issue a recovery of a windows restore point will be OK, provided restore point was made before infection . However some nasty viruses can also infect restore points (even if restore point was created before virus infection).
Obviously worth a try using system restore but a full image backup to an external hdd made before infection is a more robust protection.
If a System Image does not exist, or it has been some time since the last, it is better if one is made.
But making a System Image before every new program installation would be overkill and inconvenient.
You just have to trust System Restore sometimes.
