After all the problems I've had with new PVR's from Argos over the last week I had Digihome, Hitachi, Sagem, Wharefdale and they all had some sort of technical problems and had to go back.
So I bit the bullet and bought the Humax 9150T from Argos today, from first impressions it seems very good (haven't tried it fully yet, recording etc) have got the fan noise but its not as bad as I expected it to be but I can put up with that untill the expected new software update, the picture is good etc!
I just wanted to know if I have got the latest Hardware/Software etc..
Hardware Version REV 1.0
Software Version HPTTF 1.00.06
Loader Version a4.35
Could some tell me if this is the current software for this model, I tried an update but the STB couldn't find anything!
Thanks in advance..:-)

Note there are updates currently being broadcast for 2 Humax products.
Humax make very regular broadcasts unlike a lot of other manufacturers.
I've moved into a new apartment, and the wall plate has got one satellite conncetion, and one Freeview connection, so I can't get Freesat+ (only one conncetion to the satellite).
Now I'm thinking about buying the Humax 9150T to allow me to record both Freeview, and Freesat. As a user of one of these devices, do you know if it's possible to record Freesat with this box?
Many thanks

There are not any pvrs that I know of that can record an external source (They don't have mpeg encoders). A DVD recorder preferably with a hard disc and a freeview tuner will do what you want.
Oh well, it was worth a try. Do you have any recommendations for DVD/HDD recorders that might work?
Many thanks

They will all work but for best quality check that it will record RGB in. Sony and Panasonic recorders usually have good reviews
