OP, are you happy with your lack of friends situation or are you looking to change it? There are websites that arrange meet ups with like minded people and I've known people make great new friends from these. I was thinking of going to one myself as it's always nice to meet people!

I wouldn't say 100% happy, but i can do everything that i want when i want:D
I have two friends whom I haven't seen in two years, phone occasionally that's it. I had loads in school. I am not fussed as I am busy with my life and have my family close. I am quite content.
Some people just aren't comfortable around other people or aren't very social, even a litter of puppies will have its brave ones and its nervous ones, right from birth.
I've only ever had a few close friends throughout my 35 years.
I have two friends . I did have more or so i thought but they screwed me over (not literally) last year and only today saw one and she blanked me for no reason, so i screamed.
Some people just aren't comfortable around other people or aren't very social, even a litter of puppies will have its brave ones and its nervous ones, right from birth.

That's me I was even the same at nursery at junior school my Mum had to be called in as I kept to myself to much I didn't talk to the students or teachers unless they spoke first (if I had a problem with the work I used to figure it out myself) and then I said as little as possible.
I've even had to see a psychiatrist over it as I can get physically sick if I have to meet or talk to people.

The fact you're a full time carer for family members probably hasn't helped matters, James.

I had 4 good mates in school, but we lost contact after.
It's more me I'm not really a people person prefer to be by myself most of the time

Seriously, there are loads of ways to meet new people if you so wished.
Do you work ? ... do you socialise ? ... are you isolated and not able to meet people ( make friends ) ?
Don't mean to pry Steve, but it matters if having no friends makes you unhappy ( are you unhappy about it ? ... you didn't say )

Very true however the one friend I do have I met because of that.
