  Nope, IMO an awful character put into to ecort Clara out (which never happened) He barely had any scenes with the doctor. Series 8 could have done without him

  He was a mirror to Clara, and a means to examine her relationship with the Doctor. Now that that's done, there's little reason to have him back.
