By Any Means

Anyone else watching this?

I was expecting something a bit grittier.

The sting at the beginning was snatched from the Al Pacino movie Sea of Love.

Entertaining but I could rip the storyline to shreds.

It's completely daft but fairly watchable.

It's entertaining so far and easy to understand. I like the two main actors in it. Reminds me a bit of a drama a few years ago called the Fixer.

Original British Drama, my arse! lol
Just how long are the BBC going to keep flogging us lukewarm rehashes of Bugs,Hustle,Spooks etc.Same old low budget, generic garbage.
How on earth do production companies manage to sell this stuff to broadcasters?

It reminds me of a US tv series called Leverage. Not a bad effort though.

Feel like I wasted my time with the first 50 minutes, very Oceans Eleven at the end.

For me it won't compete when Homeland returns.

Yeah I think they have taken the same set up and transferred it to the Uk. The only difference is that they are cops.

It is odd to see all the exterior shots with actors in Birmingham with well known landmarks and familiar streets, interspersed with stock London footage to make it seem as if they are filming in the capital.

And why make John Henshaw try a very dodgy Glasgow accent?

I enjoyed it. I wasn't expecting it to be so light hearted in tone actually and it took me about 20 minutes to get into it properly but I ended up really enjoying it. You didn't have to engage your brain too much, the plot was simple to follow and the characters are likeable, plus I get to perv on Warren Brown for an hour... what more could you want :D

Next week's episode looks better than tonight's one as well.

Agree completely, won't be watching this again. A huge disapointment, I really enjoyed 'What Remains' that was showing in this slot the last 4 weeks, and was hoping for something as good.

It's amusing. Keith Allen's character's attempts at anger management were laugh out loud funny. I'm not sure if I can stand the constant background 'music';. It's like trying to watch telly while suffering from a bad attack of tinnitus.

The music was a bit on the loud side.... as usual. The BBC are always being told that the BGM music is too overpowering but do they listen? Do they ****!

I enjoyed it, don't know why we needed the flashy London landmark references, so they can sell it to the States? "You Get Me" had me smiling.....you get me?

It's reminds me a lot of hustle.
I think people were mistakingly expecting a darker more serious drama but to me from the trailers it seemed obvious to me it would be quite light.
    Good for what it is.

Laughable time line for the final act, simply would have been impossible to achieve. No matter how quickly your Transit van can go.

Otherwise clearly trying to hard to be too cool and hip - actually its an old persons idea of a snappy "knowing" action series.

We enjoyed this. It was completely ludicrous but quite satisfying. Very much like a tweaked version of Hustle, I thought.

It's basically Hustle Reloaded, given Tony Jordan is the creator of both series. That suits me fine, really, since I miss Hustle :D

It had all the production values of Hustle. Could have even been written by the same people with all the flash backs at the end showing us what we hadn't seen.
I'll give it another go but it's just too similar to Hustle.

It was written by the same people, produced by the same company, filmed on the same places (Birmingham)...
