Isn't it chilly for August?

There was a time when most people thought August was the most likely month for hot sunny weather - but it rarely seemed the case.

It's disappointingly nippy though and not what the global warming zealots promised us at the turn of the century. Still, we've had a much better summer than usual this year.

    Yes, it is indeed cold.

Seems like a typical uk summer to me.

yes it's chilly, I actually put a jumper on today. But I have found it chilly since we got back from Thailand and it was in the mid to high 20's but that was cold compared with Thailand.

Yes, it is a bit cool. I think it's a nice change, it feels fresh. Heard on the radio that either today or yesterday was set to be the first day since early June that it didn't top 20C anywhere in the country. It's 15C where I am.

It's an illusion. We're actually boiling in an extreme heatwave. The Daily Express said so.

It's wonderful isn't it? For once a summer where I'm not boiling or sizzling!

I am missing the warmth and if it was mid July I'd be thinking , oh but there is August to go yet, but its September next - and then winter :(

I woke up in the night cold so I had to put a sleeping bag over my duvet.

Of course when I woke again in the morning I was sweating.

Seasons don't really seem to exist anymore. Yet people in my family still refuse to put heating on regardless of the temperature because its "summer"

Definitely cold for the time of year : we've often had late Augusts where it was 23C or more.

It's a bit changeable. The wind is cool but when the sun's out it's still quite hot.

I don't mind it though. It's still nice and comfortable weather, and we had a cracking July.

Went out in a jacket today for the first time since March so it's certainly getting a little bit nippy. I'm rather looking forward to Autumn, the winter months are normally the cosiest. :)

Suns out here in the North East but it does seem a bit chilly, I've just had to go and put a cardi on.

Where have you lived for some of the recent winters? Here in Britain there has been record breaking cold weather.
