It looks like we might sign Cabella now according to The Chronicle:

    http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/newcastle-united-set-sign-remy-7411161

    :)

I think we can very excited about this signing. If De Jong was our Cabaye replacement, I tink we got ours for Ben Afa. Like a ben arfa like player but more complete. runs, scores goals, makes goals. playmaker. Ginolaesque!

We seem to be getting well sorted for our midfield.

Next up seems to be Daryl Janmaat as our Debuchy replacement and a new striker, Riviere for £6m ish. Feels odd, being so active in the transfer market again.

I agree, our midfield looks to be complete if we bring in Cabella.

Janmaat in next hopefully after Cabella.

Hopefully if we do bring in Riviere he won't be our only striker in.

I agree it's awesome we're buying players again.

2 in if we include Riviere and Perez but we still need a proven center forward. Loic Remy has been genuinley linked to us in he past couple of days. Trouble is so have Liverpool. The story with Remy is he was in talks with Arsenal to unveil him alongside Sanchez but couldn't agree terms. Apparently we're in touch with his reps.

I agree we need a proven centre forward and Loic Remy would be a fantastic signing, hopefully it happens. :)

Emmanuel Riviere is close to signing for us according The Chronicle:

    http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/monaco-striker-emmanuel-rivire-close-7408480

Good news and if we do sign him hopefully we sign either Alexandre Lacazette or Loic Remy as well.

We've officially signed Remy Cabella. :)

    http://www.nufc.co.uk/articles/20140713/united-complete-cabella-capture_2281670_3990712

Great news hopefully we bring in two strikers, a right back and maybe a centre back next.

Really pleased with this signing, With De Jong and Colback I think our midfield has been given a real boost, especially when you see we still like the likes of Sissoko and Tiote.

Janmaat to come next, then hopefully a top striker and center back :)

    Great stuff

Quite surprising to see Newcastle actually spend the cash. In reality Ashley didn't have a choice looking at the squad but there was still doubt he'd actually fork out.

A top striker certainly needed with only Cisse, Armstrong & Campbell at the club and the former being knackered and the latters being 14

We seem to be spending more than we did in summer 2011 and on more quality! It's as if we decided cut bad egg Joe Kinnear loose and then go wild!

Time will tell if it's a flash in the pan or a sign for the future but for now I'm really looking forward to the new season.

As strikers go, Perez is in and looks like Riviere is too but clearly we still need a proven striker.

If only Mapou doesn't leave us. If he leaves that leaves us with Williamson, Colo and Steven Taylor, as our senior center backs. We definitely need center back cover but strikers and center backs are the final piece of the jigsaw.

The question remains why we were never this active in the last couple of years,.

That#s fine. We waited for Cabella we can wait for Janmaat.

In other news, Wonga look like they#re going to pull out of our sponsorship deal after a change of chairman.

According to Lee Ryders Twitter we've signed him, we're just waiting for official confirmation from the club now. :)

Good news about the striker we need a top goal scorer though.

    All signed.

But I keep worrying about our need for a proven striker!. Riviere (if he comes in) and Perez might come good but we still need a goalscorer. We spoke about Remy earlier but I think we can forget about him.

We've just finished our pre-season friendly match against Oldham, we lost 2-1. :(

Siem de Jong, Jack Coback and Ayoze Perez made their debuts.

Siem de Jong started as Captain and he also scored our only goal.

I wouldn't worry about tonight's result. Friendlies are friendlies and tonight was our first to their third.

Interesting nugget of info in the chronicle with a vague link saying we might be interested in Benteke with Villa willing to talk. Pinch of salt taken.

The lack of confirmation on Janmaat is worrying but that will hopefully be confirmed tomorrow!

We're building a very decent squad though. Just need another striker and any replacements!
