If we're voting for SERIES then I'd say Scream but there are other horrors I prefer as films I'd choose to watch.

Hellraiser is the only one which remotely interests me, of those listed. I'd probably have voted for Saw had it been available. I like most of the Resident Evil films, and the Alien films, and Silent Hill if that counts as a series (second film on the way).

    Alternative list :D

    Tomie (9 Tomie films)
    Shake, Rattle and Roll (11)
    Evil Death Trap (4)
    Whispering Corridors (4 or 5)
    Ju-on (aka The Grudge) (5)
    Ring (6)
    The Eye (3)
    All Night Long (6)
Art of the Devil (3 or 4)

If I had to choose, the Whispering Corridors series get my vote.

Voted for Child's Play, simply because it's also amusing.
My fave film of the series being Bride of Chucky.

    I went for Friday 13th.

I went to the premier of the original (at midnight on Friday 13th), Part 2 was pretty good and I loved Jason X which is one of the funniest films I've seen.

Hellraiser was more inventive but I voted for The Evil Dead. Raimi's connection gave the series more continuity.

whilst there's some great films mentioned on your list, I think I'm preferring more recent horror franchises.
Final Destination, Paranormal Activity, [REC] have all had (IMO) pretty decent sequels, so I'm kinda looking forward to the next installments, though no doubt they will diminish in quality.

Hellraiser for me, but only because Hellrasier 1-3 are excellent. If it was one single film, Nightmare on Elm Street would win hands down.

I really liked the continuity of the Halloween and Friday the 13th series.

The Living Dead trilogy also one of my faves.

I voted Hellraiser. It is the only one with a story that you could stick to. The demons and the box will always exist.

Not the biggest fan of the genre, i would probably go for Scream had it been there, in spite of it being a case of diminishing returns, because i enjoy the way it pokes fun at itself and the genre as a whole. I'm not impressed by mindless gore in the least though.

"The box. You opened it. We came"

The first 2 Hellraiser films are weird masterpieces.
