So has Channel 4+1 HD (thanks to the tip off from a516: http://www.a516digital.com/2013/08/could-these-channels-be-coming-soon-to.html)

I expect a massive shedload of anger and vexation to come this way from that licence being granted, if the general ire against timeshifted channels is anything to be known by, a HD one will likely cause World War III to be declared. :D

From the same source, 4seven HD also licenced.

Or it could be a service to fill the three to four hours or so of dead time on Channel 5+1 which can't broadcast for legal reasons.

Unless I am missing blatantly obvious (not awake long enough to see what happens with Channel 5+1 until 5am).

I really really really hope that does NOT take off. We DONT WANT +1's or repeat channels, nevermind in HD. What a waste! With all the internet catch-up's, as well as DVR's, this is just getting bloody ridiculous.

All we need now is a 4Seven+1 and a 4Seven+1HD!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Would also be a great brand for a young peoples (e.g.16-34) audience to supplement a milkshake/shake channel.

To me the name sounds more like a adult channel like hollyoaks later.but as this time there no information on 5Later.

    Edit http://www.ofcom.org.uk/static/radiolicensing/html/tv/cs/dtps000100ba1channel51.htm

Channel 5 +1 has a license but i cant see 5* on the list.

It's listed as "5". You may have noticed that all special characters including "+" are missing from the channel names.

I wonder if TUTV's slot with Gold, Home, Marketplace, Anytime and the BT Sport preview is owned by C5. Perhaps C5 will be taking advantage of TUTV's impending demise to launch whatever this new service is on that slot.

It'll be interesting to see where True Ent goes.

Plausible. Doesn't need to be a full-time service, the remaining TUTV service can remain in the mornings until all the remaining contracts have expired. Then perhaps C5 could launch the long-rumoured "milkshake" channel?

I can't find any information on 5later but I suspect it might be, for example, a new spin off entertainment channel from Channel 5 that might use the now vacated ESPN slot that Channel 5 used to lease to Top Up TV.

As for the others, they look as if they'll go on the 230+ EPG slots for IPTV delivery.

I seem to remember E4-HD and either More4-HD or Film4-HD being listed too ages ago, but they then disappeared without a trace.

Until it's on my box and broadcasting, I will just take it all with a pinch of salt.

I find them very useful myself. I detest internet catchup services and seldom remember to set the timer on a recorder.:o

    Very likely.

There has been a suggestion that 5 Later might be a 4seven-style service. Other than that, it sounds like a late night channel of some description.

Nope. Only Peace TV is a DTAS, the rest are DTPS.

There is also an IPTV red button service coming to QVC Beauty (and probably the main QVC channel too - QVC Active is currently Inactive)

Since we have people that cannot set a timer or use a PVR, DVR (oddly people used VHS when there was no + channels)

We no doubt need +2, +3, +4 channels so these people can watch just what they want and when :p:rolleyes:

There were only five channels back then so it was a lot easier to remember what was on and when.:p

We now have about the same number of programmes worth watching, but spread over over a vastly increased number of channels.

I see Yesterday+1 is now being listed by Ofcom. That will be a godsend to those of us suffering from age-related dementia.:o

No, it isn't obviously that. It sounds more like a 4Seven type channel to me. And the suggestion that it will replace TUTV's last daytime stream is a good one. I hope this happens and we can finally see the back of Gold and Home on the EPG!

Is it? Maybe that's Channel 4's way of getting around an exclusivity contract with Sky and the +1 refers to "+1 second"? :D
