Me too... I genuinely think she's going to be pretty good next week :-)
However, I have a feeling that Meryl won't be as good as everyone is expecting (just my opinion)
Thanks for collecting these and the photos together, kindamagic. I wasn't too pleased that Maks was back and even less pleased that he got Meryl, but despite myself I'm liking the pairing (from this little clip, anyway). She seems terribly cute and sweet (and competent ;-)) and funny, charming Maks seems to have turned up this time. He better not let her down though!!
I'd never heard of Diana and Henry's never made an impression on me, but I like what I see in their video. Her honesty (about initially being disappointed) is really refreshing. She seems like an articulate woman who thinks clearly. (Be fun if she did switch to Cheryl for that week ).
I like he's not playing the media game just doing his own thing, his face did slightly crack on a couple of occasions. I did say previously, that I thought Karina, will have her work cut out getting him to project his performance. She's a good foil for him, although she looks to be working hard for it. He seems so laid back he's positively comatosed, but that's his personality.
Billy on the other hand, doesn't seem very forthcoming, interview, dance or performance wise, let's hope he is saving himself for Tuesday.:D So far he looks lacklustre.
I'm just catching up & cannot believe they've dropped the lovely Tris & brought Maks back.
Hi CC
I know poor Tristan, he was so lovely, in his radio interview, link above, that Lili posted (thanks, listened to it last night).
Think TPTB see Maks as a bigger personality or character for the show. The only point of interest for me is to see what he can do with Meryl. I am waiting to see what his choreography will be like. After his complaining and moaning in previous seasons, it is his chance to show us what he's capable of and from his huffing and puffing about himself, I'm expecting great things.:D:D:D
I know it is early days but I can't see Erin and Tom as co-hosts working Tom would have been better on his own. In the announcement I know they haven't worked together before but it was very false and fake to me Brooke & Tom had a natural chemistry from the start.
I liked Brooke and thought she did a good job until they limited her role because of the changes with the result show, the area the pros & celebs sit and the shorter show. They did the same to her as they did to the band they fazed them out during the last season.
As for Brooke being awkward with her questions she is still not as bad as Tess when she thinks the couple are together in real life even though Tess was great like series.
The reason I though Meryl was never Derek's partner was because any time they have someone with some kind of unique contestant or performer they usually pick Derek because they were a lot of rumours that a victim of the Boston bombing was going to be on the show and be paired with Derek & Brilynn who was blind who danced with Derek in the Macy's dance so it seems a natural fit to me but I understand why people think Amy was Tristan's partner too due to his last pairing. Tristan and Derek do seem the only natural choice for Amy tbh.
I think that Meryl is too short for either Maks or Derek or Tristan what height is Sasha? Because he found out last minute as well
BIB - You may be on to something here. Emma's 5'5 and she looks fine with Sasha (her bf) and I think Sasha would have been great paired with Meryl.
Still smarting over the way they shafted Tristan, with no advance notice as they'd promised. >:( No class ABC. As you may have read, ABC allowed its "most powerful woman in Hollywood," Anne Sweeney, to say it was her idea to leave ABC because she wanted to direct TV movies, not because ABC is mired in last place among major networks. Which had Hollywood in giggles. Like quitting the job of Postmaster General in order to become a letter carrier.
I agree it is odd that Meryl was matched with Maks when they always say they match them according to height. I would have absolutely loved to see her with Tristan but Sasha would have been great also or even Henry. Sigh. What do I know?
7. Lots of guest judges: Though no names have been released yet, Green says there will likely be a guest judge on the panel nearly every week beginning in April — in addition to the permanent panel of Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli. "They're going to be a mixture of people from the world of music, big stars from ABC, ex-dancers ... a real range of people, all of whom have an opinion and have a knowledge and can bring something to the judging," Green says.
I like the idea of guest judges... I thought that most of the guest judges were really good last season, mostly so you got more variety in critique
I wonder if the guest judge thing is the context for Maks reportedly turning down a judging slot, rather than replacing one of the permanent three? Wouldn't be like Maks to exaggerate his importance to the show, now, would it? ;-)
Candace seems nice and the Sharna/Charlie partnership is going to be great. So glad she has someone she can really do things with .
The quiff is clearly a theme for the men this season (Mark, James, Henry, Val). Stay strong Charlie!
I am guessing Russian grandmas disapprove of sons not getting married. ;-)
Ha! Maks saying he's a reformed character and not interested in the drama is hilarious. Even as he layers on the compliments to Meryl - and why wouldn't he? She sounds great - he's slating previous partners and putting the drama at their door. Oh, Maks!! *roll eyes* (Still, I'm looking forward to watching these two )

His humour is very dry. Arid, even

There is a tiny 3 second bit of Artem I wearing a star wars outfit backing up Billy Dee.
