Was reading the news about Kelly Clarkson releasing a new single and album soon, and realised she has never had a dud album (and she's been in the biz long over a decade)
Coming from a big Britney fan, Britney Jean was not good. (I like a few songs on there but the album as a whole is weak and even those singles are not memorable).
I liked the album before as well but it's not classic Britney. She hasn't been great since Blackout/Circus.
Madonna
I know her later stuff dvides much opinion but I can always rely on Madonna to deliver a good pop album.
Ignoring Britney Jean, i would say Britney always normally gets it right.
Rihanna's albums always seem to divide opinion, but ignoring her abomination that was her debut, Rihanna always delivers a good album for me, and normally her album tracks are much stronger and show her in a better range then what her singles portray.
I disagree with Kelly clarkson personally. Her first album and her third album are utter tripe. Her second is amazing. Her fourth is average. Her fifth was stunning. So she's really only managed two incredibly great albums out of 5 for me.
I also agree with Pink, but ignoring the messy and better best forgotten Try this.
I agree with Kelly Clarkson and P!nk. I'd also add Carrie Underwood to that list (The Sound of Music doesn't count) and Gabrielle (she might not be relevant anymore but the new songs on her greatest hits where just as good as her old stuff)
Rihanna has never released a dud album. She's had some amazing album campaigns like GGGB. Then the iconic darker image of Rated R and the red hair of Loud which make those eras immediately stand out. She always seems to have a stand out killer single on every album, for example:
GGGB - Umbrella
Loud - Only Girl
Talk That Talk - We Found Love
Unapologetic - Diamonds
Her album tracks are stronger than you'd expect for an artist predominantly known for her huge number of hit singles. She usually delivers a different sound on every album so some might be preferred by certain people to others and she doesn't avoid controversy but she always delivers a great album campaign.
I guess a any act with great longevity will have had a few missteps whoever they are. Bob Dylan and the Rolling Stones went off the rails a bit in the 80s. Paul McCartney has released some real rubbish. Madonna has had a few duds.
One who comes to mind as having gone for decades with almost universal acclaim is Bruce Springsteen. I can't think of any record he has released that wasn't well received.
I see lots of talk about Rihanna on here but I always had her pegged as more of a singles artist with lots of filler on the albums. Her last one had a fair bit of crap on it.
Beyonce - from Destiny's Child to her solo career. A 17 year long career, more popular today than ever and her work sells well consistently. Never had a flop, very consistent.

Oh man, I disagree with this so much. Out of all the diva's your average joe could list maybe 2 or 3 hits from Beyonce. She's had very poor albums as well.
I'd argue if B has ever had a solid album, some amazing hits yes, but albums? nahhh

That's because she's an r&b artist. If you don't like contemporary r&b, then you won't like her. But it doesn't mean her music's bad, in fact, the fact it's better live speaks volumes.

She had a misfire with the godawful Run the world (girls).

Have to disagree with your last point about Femme Fatalle. That was a classic Britney Record that was massive in the states. And criminally missed by the British Public.

Her last two albums have been nothing short of dreadful.
To me, country singer Jason Aldean has been nothing but consistent in the ten years that he has now been on the radio.
God bless you and him always!!!

I would have agreed but for Night Train, I just couldnt get on with that album in its entirety. Some great tracks on there but for me it lacked the consistency of relentless, Wide Open or My Kinda Party. Not saying its bad though, just a dip in consistency.
Couldn't agree more. One of the few artists who has structure to their campaigns. Also one of the few artists to get charting hits with her 3rd/4th/5th singles. The only misfire I can think of is Unconditional which was a real dud. Thankfully her 3rd single saved the day. Not many artists could have done that either.

That's your personal opinion, however the consistent sales of her music and tours over the last 17 years both in a girl group and as a solo artist say otherwise and she's more popular now than she has ever been.

It was hardly a massive misfire. It's her single that performed the least well, but hardly a massive flop. In her 17 year career, if releasing Run The World (Girls) is considered her biggest misfire, then it just goes to show how well she has done.

Human Touch/Lucky Town weren't that well received - also his last couple of albums Wreaking Ball and High Hopes have seen a little dip in quality.
I'd throw out 'The New Pornographers' six albums so far of brilliant quirky pop - with no album lower than 74 on Metacritic.

Prince 1980-1988 almost flawless output...8 albums (9 if you count The Black Album) in 8 years.

Up until Britney Jean i would of agreed with you...
All she does is copy Katy Keene.
