For the past half an hour I've been trying to send a one page text message to Italy and I keep getting "Error Sending Message"! Is anyone else experiencing this? My Inbox is now full and I can't Save then Send!

It might help if you say what network you are on.

I was having trouble, again , sending text on o2 earlier.

Virgin. It's not the first time it's happened but after a few attempts I'm usually able to send it but this time I gave up after about a dozen tries!

I assume you have international dialling enabled?
I think most networks now have this enabled as a default

When you inserted the Italian phone number, did you remember to change the '00' international code to '+' ?

It's a number I've been sending to several times a week for the past three years!

    Hi,
When trying to text another country do I have to replace the 0? I'm trying to text someone in the USA

Yes, when dialling another country the format should be

International prefix + country code + area code + number

So for the USA (from the UK), you dial

00 1 and the area code and number

    or on a mobile:

+ 1 and the area code and the number

You drop the leading zero from the area code when dialling internationally

Thanks, so if dialling from a mobile to another mobile, fi the original number was 077Something, it'd now be +177Something?

Edit - or would it be 00+177

Right, here we are hours later and it's still going on! This is just ridiculous! I tried calling the Airtime Balance number as well and there was nothing. Is this to do with 'Big Brother'? There MUST be others on Virgin reading this who have had similar problems today so post and tell us about it!
