    p.s My grandma is still quite cool, despite having been born in Victorian times. She told me if I don't get a husband soon I'll have to actually express my true self, and that would never do (and then laughed sardonically).

    So she's 111 years old. Sorry couldn't resist. :) But I know what you mean. My grandmother was cool too. Her advice was make sure you marry well,
    At the time I thought she meant a good wedding day with all the trimmings. Then I realised that she mean't marry a man with money and has good prospects in his career.

    I ike to hear older people talk about local history and the way things were, and you really get torealize how much peoples lives and the local area has changed in such a short time.
