Face Book

Still cant figure out what all the fuss is about.
But people seem happy to put their real names in there and their photos .

The site seems pro active, it will send you an e mail
suggesting things to do on site, how to improve your pages or groups.

You can start a page on any subject... which seems a good feature, you can also start up groups.

Its a massive site and always seems to be there, working ok

confused  you don't see what the fuss is about and then you describe how it basically functions

not being rude here, but what point are you trying to make? (I rarely use the thing myself so I am not jumping on a FB defending wagon)

I love the up to the minute topicality and discussion potential of the thread.

What's wrong with Facebook? It's a handy way to keep in touch with family.

Facebook has competition? "Face Book" doesn't stand a chance.

I've just joined Facebook after a few years away-but under a false name to anonymously spy on some old acquaintances.

I bet one day it'll do a massive overnight flit when noone's looking, and we'll never find it again.

Does anyone on DS actually LIKE Facebook? Or am I in the 0.1%?

    I'm confused ..

Me too. Which is quite a feat for an OP which basically explains stuff we already know, so should in theory be the least confusing thing ever.

I play Candy Crush. I belong to a group. I live chat with some friends. I also send PMs to friends. I have a few people from DS on there and that's cool for me. I'm American, so FB is the only way I'm ever going to "meet" DS buddies :)

Also I have family who have moved out of state, so it's nice to be able to stay in touch through FB. Much cheaper than traveling :)

Same goes for me, bar the Candy Crush thing. I don't play games on Facebook (the only ones I do play are the ones I have on my phone :D).

I talk to people on there quite a lot, like statuses and pictures, and of course post several of my own too.

using it isn't the same as liking it. Facebook has some of the lowest user satisfaction scores, and not a single user is *obliged* to use it...

How many people think that Oculus Rift will be better now that Facebook has bought it? :D

I do play a couple of games, but I have went into my setting so they don't go through friends news feed. I also never send request to those that don't play. I try not to be annoying :D

I like statuses too and post pictures as well. I have always liked looking at other peoples photo's, so FB is perfect for me :D

That's a fair point, using and liking are different. The thing is, I do like. I'm also one who likes it when FB updates. IMO FB has improved over the years.................maybe there's something wrong with me :o:D
