I saw this on the cinema and it was much easier to get into the mood, I remember getting a couple of shocks. :D

Colombiana - revenge thriller not too bad, the shark scene was brutal but well done. 6/10

    Her - 7/10

The story kinda drags out for 2 hours, should have been around 95-105 minutes. I like the setting of the story - but if you pay close attention you can see scenes taken in the US and China are linked together.

I'd agree. I found it quite off-putting: so much narcissism. Some good stuff but on the whole I found it uncomfortable to watch.

Affectionate tribute to silent cinema. The dog should have won an Oscar.

The Woman In Black is about as scary as an episode of Scooby Doo.

I could barely understand a word that Liam Neeson said, other than the swearing!
I've always liked him but lately he seems to be the same person in every role, and this got so predictable, I stopped caring long before the end,

I saw this a few months back and found it really depressing! Brilliant in parts but with a truly, truly hopeless ending ... or rather an ending without hope.

    It certainly was!
In fairness, that's one of things I'd say in its favour - it didn't go for the typical Hollywood ending; instead it ended in the only way it could really, imo.

Trance - Nearly gave up on this half way through but stuck with it and was very glad I did, Danny Boyle comes up trumps again! 7.5/10

I was just so peeved at seeing
the guy who played Milton in TWD die second from last
    when he'd died in
    TWD a few weeks before!

The Square - a documentary chronicling the Egyptian revolution in 2011 to the coup d'etat in 2013 - why did the revolutionaries want to get rid of Mubarak? What happened afterwards? What now? Insightful. Must see. 9/10

Violet - a visual film with minimal dialogues + plot. Tough film to sit through despite being only 82 minutes long. Some of those static shots were not easy to keep the audiences awake. 3/10

Rififi (1955) - Excellent french film noir 9/10 Blu Ray.

The Hourglass Sanatorium (1973) Head scratching surreal Polish shenanigans. Terry Gilliam meets Freud meets David Lynch. 8/10 Blu ray import

Earth vs. the Flying Saucers (1956)

This was on Crackle UK before it was recently closed down. The plot was OK and the effects were good for their time because they were done by legendary special effects specialist Ray Harryhausen.

Verdict = 6/10 (and much better than the 2008 Keanu remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still)
