Catastrophic climate change ends Bronze Age civilisation
Article created on Sunday, August 18, 2013
Archaeologists have long debated what caused the Late Bronze Age (LBA) world of the Eastern Mediterranean, a rich network of Aegean, Egyptian, Syro-Palestinian and Hittite civilizations to collapse about 1300 BC. Many scholars have cited warfare, political unrest and natural disaster as factors. But a new study supports the theory that climate change was largely responsible.

In reality no sod knows.
Is that a intended in joke?
Sod being: A section of grass-covered surface soil held together by matted roots.
And them using cores to look into the past climate?
Catastrophic Climate Change Starts Iron Age
Not many of them quite so quickly and mainly by their own hand though.
Doh! Well OF COURSE there was a huge environmental/climate-influencing "event" that would have resulted in ALL the above as either primary or secondary consequences in EXACTLY that timeframe...the years, maybe decadesof climatological mayhem after THERA blew!
We know other, smaller volcanic events and occasional small asteroid strikes have had the effects of "years without a summer"...and the Thera catatrophe was one of the known "biggies"
Funny how every scientists' pet theory has to be "new"....:p
Not at all:)
