    Well I certainly wouldn't agree!

Much of religion was inspired by "why are we here" and represented the best ideas of the time.

But as things have - em - evolved, we now have better ideas which should supersede the old ideas

Or it could just be that training methods have been refined and we know more about nutrition etc.

    Wouldn't that be evolution though?

    Not in the Darwinian sense.

The human race has evolved morally, physically and mentally. There is so much more to evolution that just Darwinism.

I think you'd have difficulty proving any of those ... recorded history is what? 5000 years maybe? That isn't enough time for any truly noticeable physical evolution ... it's much more likely it's down to improved hygiene and diet. Morally? Seems to me we just do exactly what our animal cousins do ... we just do it with guns, tanks and bombing others back to the stoneage. Mentally? I doubt it ... my best guess is that we're no smarter than people 2000 years ago or even when we were back in the caves ... we just seem smarter and can see further because we stand on the shoulders of giants.
