I always do mine around 7 or 8pm the evening beforehand. It saves me forgetting but usually gets quite confusing!

Except for my wristwatch, all of the clocks in my house take care of themselves.

This is the 21st century. My clocks and my watch sort themselves out.

I will not feel the benefit of this as I'm off Monday from work anyway.

It isn't just the day after when you feel the benefit of the clocks going back.

You actually feel the benefit for weeks afterwards.;-)

Lighter mornings, but also darker evenings.

The same day that they have always changed.

When they go back I wouldn't mind them staying that way for good.

Thought it was only since about World War One.

Dunno, but it hasn't been a random day such as Monday one year then Friday the next.

Wasn't it 2 hours in WW1 (accompanied by huge output increases validated by the NAO).

The change - both back and forward - is at 1 a.m. GMT and it is at the same moment throughout the EU - so if you are somewhere like Finland or Greece which are two hours ahead of us the change this weekend takes place at 4 a.m. local time, going back to 3 a.m.

I heard it was something to do with the cows in Scotland and milking in the dark mornings? Or was somebody having me on? Or is that just the reason it is remaining in place?

It's a myth. Why on earth would people in Spain or Italy or Greece be changing their clocks for the benefit of cows in Scotland? :D

    An extra hour of sex.

You'll all do what us Scots tell you to do. If we say turn your clocks back then DO IT okay. And someone get me a sandwich and tea, i'm hungry.

Well go on, chop chop. Those sammiches aren't gonna make themselves.

No. It's just the reason we haven't converted back that's all.

It's done all over the world except in the majority of equatorial countries which don't have any reason to, The US and Canada change next weekend, and it's to avoid an unacceptably late sunrise in the winter months. People generally don't like getting up in the dark for months on end which is what would happen if we didn't do it.

Why - they take care of themselves these days?

And that's why I love the clocks going back.
