Why should there be? They have all had plenty of time to register.
The law treats all equally actually whether they register two hours or two years before the deadline -there's no provision for your within the deadline but it's tough.
Various MP's are saying on social media that a deadline extension that's legal now should be possible including Yvette Cooper
Tip for the future, don't cite Yvette Cooper if you want to be taken seriously (and only 17% voted for her in the Labour leadership contest, first round)
One key thing to consider is that they can't realistically extend the voter registration deadline because tomorrow, 8th June, is the deadline for applying for a postal vote. To extend one could result in postal votes not being processed which in turn could have consequences for those already registered to vote. There's only a fortnight to go. The timescales are tight. They can't be altered.
Ah David Lammy who tweeted that it was racist for the Vatican to use black smoke when a Pope had not been selected. He should have done his homework then he would not have made such a faux pas Not the sharpest tool in the box.
Is he a senior Labour MP? I thought he was a back bencher! But, just because Labour extended their deadline in the hope members would suddenly choose someone else other than Corbyn, doesn't mean the same rules applies in this instance.
You can register to vote anytime that is why the site is open. However if the deadline was midnight on 7 June to be eligible for the 23 June vote then that means people now registering will not be able to vote on 23 June

I guess they could accept registrations until 1.30am to compensate the crash?
No doubt there will be uproar over this and the law will then change. People should really pay more attention as I don't see what more the authorities could do to get people to register. Why do people leave something so important to the last minute?

Months actually the adverts started months ago.

Senior Labour MP David Lammy too
So that proves the LDs don't know the deadline is statutory, rather silly of them to admit they don't know the law
Realistically, they only need an 80 minute extension. An additional 24 hours would be unreasonable and frankly unnecessary.

According to this tweet anyway
You can register on the Government website anytime. Doesn't mean you will be eligible to vote in any forthcoming election though.

The deadline to #RegisterToVote in the #EURef has now passed. If you did not register, you cannot vote in the EU Referendum.
And now Jeremy Corbyn
That looks like an automated tweet
So another one showing he does not know what the law is, disappointing for someone who is the Leader of the Opposition.
Have applied to register to vote every time I've heard it mentioned on the news & now have 2,347,528 polling cards. I may swing this myself
