Watched Episode 1 of series 1 and advised my wife to
watch it on BBC Player to catch up; then we watched the
rest of series one together. She loved it and was gripped
by it. I found it increasingly boring and far fetched. She is
    watching episode 1 of series 2 as I write this,while I am
obviously NOT. Tedious, written by the numbers Beeb stuff
so far as I am concerned......

This programme is up itself. Way too self-indulgent.

My husband is watching it but I have come onto the PC, I couldn't understand one bit of it - too dark, too slow and incomprehensible! Didn't help that I dropped off for about ten minutes in the middle! I knew I wouldn't like it as I couldn't stand the first seriesl Don't know why I bothered.

I'll watch the first episode and see if I can grasp what's going on. If it's too hard to understand who's who and what's what, I'll record the rest and watch series 1 first.
That's your best bet to be honest. I wouldn't have missed the first series for the world .

Because she turned him down when he asked her to marry him ?
Because he knew she loved Tommy ? Because she could give him away ?
    Take your pick.;-)

Indeed - what do people want? ;-) I loved tonight's episode - so many plot twists that will all snake their way through forthcoming episodes, I can't wait! :D (And where's that club in London? I want to go there!)

Good looking show but the story itself leaves a lot to be desired. A bit too much stylistic walking in slow motion and not enough actual plot/meaningful dialogue.

With all the budget and effort they've put into it, it feels surprisingly empty.

definitely lots of plot twists which is great, but im really impatient and hate having to wait a week to find out what happens next :D

Says more about you than your wife, perhaps you can give us an insight of what you consider quality TV

I cannot comprehend the negative comment on here....what the ***k is wrong with you people, keep watching Emmerdale or whatever soap takes your fancy and leave the quality TV to the grown ups

Great opening episode. Keeping up the standard set in series one.

Tom Hardy is in next week's episode. Not a spoiler as its all over the web and Radio Times.

Poor Ida, so is it Sam Neill's men or the London gangsters who have her???

    Yes I did......

I can't praise Series 1 highly enough but last night was all style and no substance.
