Happy Birthday for yesterday, Sad - glad you had a lovely day of chillin'. :)

KJ - which did you choose? The suspense is killing me! :D

Plummie- - drop in and say "Hi" even if nothing else - we miss you when you don't pop by! (((hug)))

I dodn't get the job yesterday but ran a close second to the person who did get it, and who had once run their own theatre company as well as having loads of A-level experience which I don't have. So am really pleased with that, as I have *no* formal qualifications in Drama whatsoever; think I did pretty well really. And got incredibly positive feedback, so all good.

Am off to talk to another school today who want me to start supply on Monday with a view to maikng it a permanent job, so we shall see. I've said I'll do supply there up till half term and then we'll see what they think and what I think!

    It's all go...

Nice day, though, so I'll enjoy being out and about.

Have a good one, chaps! :)

    Today's events.

Wifi hotspot check, as the one by KFC isn't working, although CW have told me my phone settings are correct.

L&D bus way return to Luton town centre.

A few beers. Well, it has to be done, doesn't it.

Ordered a satellite receiver, which also does Freeview, plus the relevant cable, all in for £165 quid, courtesy of Maplin.

I was having a few beers tonight with a tenant and he wants a threesome with my GF. I obviously said no ******** way.

But, I have plans for him. There is another woman I can fix him up with, but she won't be FOC (i.e. is an escort). I'll let them get on with it, once I've given him the details.

I did enjoy the company of the lady above (in all senses of the word) a little while back, but I've moved on now and I'm not sharing my current GF with anybody, personally. However, I think I'd be rather naive to think she isn't seeing other blokes or at least getting a lot of attention.

The simple situation is whether I can handle all this and accept that she is probably screwing other blokes in addition to me (she's hinted as such). In other words, I know I've talked about this situation quite a lot, but I doubt I could ever consider her as a long time GF. My gut feelings on the matter (she is a friend of the escort above, but not working as such, but who knows). For one thing, the age difference is huge (26 years younger).

To be honest, I do think I am doing this.

Playing With Fire (Single Edit) - Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam

    and feeling this.

Lost in emotion - Lisa lisa & The cult jam lyrics

A difficult post to write, to say the least.

Life can get very complicated, can't it... Go with your gut feelings. That way, whatever happens next, you will have been true to yourself.

handy - more interview vibes on their way. :)

Plummy - lovely to see you back. :)

I'm going to get a massive spreadsheet into shape today, and I'm going to feel much better for doing it. A quick trip to the shops is a must, though. I'm on the road and have failed to pack enough knickers, so it's either go commando or buy some more. :D

    Evening all :)*waves*

The weather is really starting to hot up for summer, we're settled into a week of 30 and 31C temperatures, and although it's been like that for a couple of weeks or so, it just sort of feels hotter this week. At times like this, it's good to be at work in the aircon and in and out the freezers.

With an excess of stock coming in and a shortage of staff to deal with it, things have been somewhat frantic the last few weeks and it seems tempers are fraying. This means that I have to go into "clown mode overdrive" to try and compensate, this resulted in me spending one day periodically having to do a little dance in the aisles to make my colleagues stop looking grumpy. I'm not sure that I'm doing us poms any favours in the eccentric department - ho hum! :o:D

jra - with regards to your situation, only you can decide if you can handle it all emotionally. The heart is a strange thing, just try not to let yourself get hurt. Sometimes things are fun and ok to start with but then as time goes on, things might start to irk you. Maybe it's all good to go with the flow for now but generally keep things under review in your mind as to how comfortable you genuinely are with what may/may not be happening.

Handy, still keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Batty - knickers - schmickers! Was it big spreadsheets or big knickers you were after? Granny pants, up to the armpits, down to the knees! :D ... but not round the ankles, or we'll have the gentleman here getting hot under the collars

.... and on that unsuitable note, I shall bid you all goodnight ;)

    Taxi.

Brighton last summer was fun - I went down the beach to pass the time and quickly pulled a boyfriend without even trying (then made my excuses and left as they used to say in the NotW). It was drizzling and so I ended up hanging out with the nice people in yellow jackets by the church who sort out the tramps and random distressed folk (refusing their kind offer of a blanket) because frankly, there were tanked up peeps in the 18-30 age range everywhere (a Saturday night) and I felt safe there. Oh, and I had some Palace kit on so doubly in danger!

And I'm posting on my new phone!!!!! Very exciting. New number I can actually remember too, which is a nice change. Will pass it on once I've stopped playing with it.

Sound advice there (thanks) and generally the same as my best friends are saying. Basically, I don't want to go too far down the emotional route and let my feelings cloud my judgement.

I do appreciate you guys for listening to all this.

This is essentially what I'm going to do and not expect too much out of this relationship. However, I'd be lying if I said it hasn't been a lot of fun, up to now.

    Morning, Grumps :)

Well, the new place seem glad to have me and I'll be glad of the money, though an 8am start an hour's drive away is going to mean a bit of a change of routine round here!

Little M will be having breakfast at her childminder's and I'll be doing more jobs in the evenings to leave time free in the mornings to actually eat a bite of breakfast before I go out.

But they really do need someone, I feel I can get my teeth into the work and genuinely help out, AND it's just a supply contract so, to be really evil, there's always the get-out clause that if it all proves too much I can walk away. I hope not, cos I could be there till the end of the school year if I want the work, so that would mean stability and cash till the back end of July and then a well-earned rest over the summer! :D

Posh new building as well, purpose built drama studio and theatre, IT coming out of our ears - all very nice!

Lsura, I really do send every kind of sympathy and vibe. I've heard that shingles is agony - do hope you make a recovery soon :(

Glad the pants were nice ones, batty. I once went up to stay at my Dad's and realised halfway there I had no knickers with me! I had to stop off and buy some, to much of this:  from my nearest and dearest!

jra - as I've said before, listening to each other is what we do. Batty and Sad and KJ and I have been whinging to each other online for a number of years now, with others floating in and staying on at regular intervals, and it seems to work lovely!
KJ - that all sounds very Bill Bryson... you should write a book! Memoirs of a Peripatetic Eagle.
Except I supppose there might be big hazy blanks in it... :D

Right - need two hands now as I'm onto the Youghurt Phase of breakfast.

Have a good one, guys! :)

Ooo, go melon!!! Well done! :)

LL - I got a lovely iPhone. Not the newest one because no one has them in stock, but I didn't fancy the fingerprint thingy anyway. Doing a bank job at some point in later life is not completely out of the question. :D So I've got the previous type and it's fab.

I'm sitting here trying to work up the enthusiasm to do a bit of sorting out in my room. I bought a few big plastic crate things with lids a few weeks ago and that is as far into the sorting as I have got. I'm too tired and unmotivated, but when I'm not too tired who wants to do tidying, far better to put the energy towards more entertaining activities :D I think I need to set myself a deadline..... perhaps this time next year (for the deadline for deadline setting, with maybe the actual deadline for 5 years hence thus giving me 6 years - sounds a bit optimistic but I've got a year to decide on the deadline :p ).

I need to get a new book. I've been doing a fair bit of re-reading lately which is great in some ways, but at the moment I'm sort of marking time as I'm waiting for the last of the Thomas Covenant books to be published and then delivered, so I'm looking at probably another 2 - 3 weeks. Our local bookshop is closing down (again) so a trip there tomorrow after work might be in order - with their 40% off it brings their prices down to UK levels nearly.

I'm very proud of YoungPlum at the moment. There's been a girl at school who she sort of got lumbered with as a "friend", she inherited her from a mutual friend of theirs who then left the school a couple of years ago. She isn't really all that nice, she is inclined to bossiness and is somewhat manipulative and sneaky ... and is to a degree a bit of a psychological bully. YoungPlum has finally stood up to her, politely told her whats-what in a non-confrontational way and has moved on to sit with some other girls who are much nicer. It has needed to happen for months now, but YoungPlum had to make the decision herself and deal with it when she was ready. Considering that she's generally rather easy going and gentle, once she's made her mind up that something is wrong, she goes for it with a steely determination.

All else is fine here. I'm planning to win the lottery this weekend.

    Why, thank you, The Plum!
It came into my vocabulary from my days as Head of Music- that's what you call the instrument teachers who flit from school to school - "The Peri Staff" for short.
    Enjoy using it! :D

And a *high five* not just to Little Plum, who done good, but also to your good self for your parental wisdom and not trying to fly in and fix it for her. That takes guts - well done, MumPlum! :)

    That's good to hear, handy.

I admit I do like to have a good rant on DS sometimes, and yes it does get me into trouble on occasions, but there you go.

Thanks laura. Pop in more often, please.

As for trouble. I have put myself in some very dangerous situations in the past, as part of my misspent youth. I've calmed down quite a lot these days and am more socially aware, but I still think you need eyes in the back of your head sometimes.

    =

Best wishes to all of you. There is a lot going on in your lives at the moment, it seems and I hope you all get satisfactory resolutions.

Boring bit. One of my smoke alarms (*) has been beeping at me all day, so I guess I'd better go and change the battery.

(*) There are no less than 10 smoke alarms, 3 carbon monoxide alarms in this property, plus 3 fire extinguishers and 2 fire blankets.

    Morning!

Yesterday was a sod - couldn't get the car back from the garage till nearly 5, Mr M had to go and get Melony, no-body got home till twenty to six and it's Youth Club at six, so then tea was late, and argh argh argh. AND the plumber was here for four hours so no washing-up done and no washing done, cos my water was turned off. Grrrrr.

Anyway, all sorted now - car in one piece, central heating just about sorted and today I can spend the day domestic goddessing and getting cleared back up. AND I'm going to ring the vet and see if the Terrible Three are ready for the big, bad world yet (ie, they have to have The Snip before they go out). They chewed through the strings on one of the conservatory blinds yesterday and it's knackered - and they're proper ones from Sanderson's that cost an arm and a leg. Mr M hasn't noticed it yet, but he will...

And at some point I'm going to sit down and have an hour to myself, as next week will be a teeny bit mentalist.

Re smoke alarms - ours is right outside the kitchen and goes off if you burn the toast. Not so good for a relaxing morning :D
    Hugs to grumpies :)

Hi Laura, sorry to hear that.

I've been feeling pretty pissed off today, so I went and listened to some music. That usually cheers me up.

I got a reply from the manufacturers about my tablet, which essentially said I can buy a new screen from their website. The point is, I don't want to fork out for a new screen, I want it FOC.
