I keep getting updates from Microsoft about .Net Framework 3.5 Service Pack and numbers KB951847x86 & KB2804577.
I click to update these and it then tells me that the update has failed to install. I then tried to uninstall .Net Framework 3.5 - which is already on my computer - and it would not delete. (I thought that by getting rid of this, the new update would install).

I have just phoned Microsoft, got someone with an Indian accent (of course), explained the problem & he then hung off! Hmmm...

What should I do? I use Firefox - does that have any bearing on this issue?

the .net frame work is like a library used by any programs that are written in a .net language. of which there are plenty. so you do need it and it does need to be uptodate

Options are
-to download the updates manually http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl...ils.aspx?id=22 and http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl....aspx?id=39006
-try again to uninstall it. in control panel and install a later version
-umm can't think of any more really.

nothing to do with firefox btw.
