Emmerdale rises simultantiously with Corrie. These soaps are intertwined, so when Corrie drops so does Emmerdale.
Exactly which is why Emmerdale at 8 on Friday will beat EastEnders plus the shooting happens right at the end of 7pm episode so i fully expect people to tune back in at 8pm.

EastEnders has had a tough time lately with Twice weekly clashes much of the time and then thr Rugby on Friday so it has jumped nicely.

BBC1 Scotland are ahowing EastEnders tonight at 9:30 with many saying they will just watch on I player as they dont have BBC1London or whatever. I guess if you are a Sky customer then you are unaffected.

That's a bit more like it. I had a horrible feeling it would drop. Last nights episode was th best of this series so far so should hold onto that audience.

Best, we are all different I guess but I was totally bored throughout, would rank it as one of the least interesting to date. Maybe that's the high point as far as ratings go this series.

    Excuse me?

I posted facts and then an opinion on EE. 200k for the EE repeat is very poor especially when the normal rating is underwhelming.

I could go on and say that there was a very negative reaction on the soaps forum to last night's EE, with people describing it as "ridiculous" and "purely plot driven
    ".
Yes there was a very mixture review regarding last nights EastEnders but there is also plenty of negative Corrie ones too. Stating how the Live episode is going to be boring,It's looks predictable and about the lack of build up.

I tuned in last night (Both eps) and you wouldn't even think they were going Live on Wednesday. Steve and what's his name getting drunk it the barrel store.
Roy a trip to Blackpool and it was only when Sarah and Callum were together at the end you knew that's where it will continue from on Wednesday.

Eastenders is a mess. It's just become Brookside as it entered it's suicide mission. Ridiculous storylines with characters so out of character. It looks like the actors know it as well. Sam Janus couldn't even bother to put in a decent attempt at acting last night. It was like why am I doing this chit? Many viewers will have thought the same. 😯

I have never really rated Sam Womack/Janus anyway. She has always been so/so in my opinion. I've never been keen on the character of Ronnie either.

Sam Janus is a half decent actress away from the scripts EE give her. You don't like the character. Fine but that is down to EE producers/scriptwriters. You can't dismiss the mess by just looking to dump on the actress I specifically mentioned. There is much much weaker talent in EE than Sam.

I noticed that BBC News at One did a report on 60 years of ITV. However they took the angle of 60 years of TV adverts instead and in the report they said "Soon the adverts became more entertaining than the programmes themselves". I couldn't help but laugh at that :D.

I disagree hardly a mess there is loads going on at the moment and some great acting. At least things happen in ee unlike corrie which can be dull as dishwater 90% of the time 😄

Amazing consolidated ratings for gogglebox 4.74m then 695k on +1
And 895k for the Saturday repeat ☺

The overnights are becoming less and less significant as timeshifted viewing is adding huge numbers.

With Lewis and Unforgotten both starting that week, the two vacant slots are Tuesday and Thursday. Surprising to see either end up on a Tuesday, particularly against New Tricks. I'd guess Lewis will go there with the new show getting Thursday.

I reckon Tuesday at 8pm for Eternal Glory if it's starting that week, and Wednesday at 8pm for Cuffs once Bake Off is done. Luther might replace New Tricks in the Tuesday slot.

Yes I think Lewis would be best for Tuesday at 9pm and its nice to see ITV finally putting a drama there. It would however been so much better if they kept Lewis as 3x120minute and placed it on Tuesday at 8pm.

As it is viewrs are not used to watching ITV on Tuesday added to the fact its against New Tricks. Idon't think Eternal Glory is going to do well on Tuesday. It should be used as weekend preXF or something. Its likely to flop there and be another programmes viewrs see as filler for ITV 8pm.

Paul O' Grady For The Love of Dogs returns Thursday 8th October at 8.30pm so it should lead into Unforgotten.

Well, overnights still give a very clear indication of how popular a show is.

A dog of a programme isn't going to timeshift that well. Likewise, a hit show like Gogglebox adds to its already strong overnights.

There is a twenty part " Dickensian " drama series on BBC1 written by Tony Jordan starting in December. This is based on a number of Dickens books. Looks an Eastenders type of show.

I wouldn't be surprised if it airs at 7pm and/or 8.30pm before or after Eastenders across five days with perhaps a double bill at the start and end of the run.

New Tricks is on its last legs, if Lewis faces is on Tuesday it will hold up well against it.
