    Here are my main ones.

The Long and Winding Road by The Beatles.

    Nothing Rhymed by Gilbert O'Sullivan

    My Way by Sinatra.

Just Like A Woman by Bob Dylan.

Lots of songs from Musicals ie Somewhere from West Side Story.

I'm just a big softie really.

The above post has reminded me of I'll Never Find Another You by the Seekers. It breaks my heart as it reminds me of my ex Husband and everything we had when things were good between us.

I'd never heard of either artist and would never have came across it had it not been for my friend sending me it. Such an emotional haunting track :(

Little Blonde Plaits (Chris Rea) - "Of my life's loves and fascinations, the only one who left me wanting more"
MacArthur Park (Richard Harris) - "After all the loves of my live, I'll be thinking of you, and wondering why"

    This.

I listened to this sitting downstairs whilst my daughter was upstairs asleep on her last night at home with me before she left home to move in with her boyfriend.

I can't listen to it anymore.

    Also Angel, Sarah McLachlan.

The song was inspired by Agnetha's daughter :(

I love all those songs (BIB) :) Especially with INFAY it celebrates the joy of a spouses' love or closeness, I guess.
The way Sinatra performed My Way as a performer's last hurrah (at the time) was just so good and fitting :) Beautiful song and a legendary singer/entertainer :)
Somewhere is just so beautiful, I wish I had someone to sing it with, its a song of longing (imo) :(

Woeful wasn't it? Still, I'm sure Mick was crying all the way to the bank.

God Only Knows by The Beach Boys and Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon and Garfunkel may be on the list for me.

The acoustic version of Local Boy In The Photograph by the Stereophonics. Such a beautiful song. It always makes me think of a friend who died 15 years ago. He's gone but will truly never be forgotten. The whole song is sad but the last line "He's gone away" really gets to me. I think many of us probably know a local boy in the photograph. :(

Oh yes, definitely agree with this. Judy Garland was a goddess, she could deliver a song like no-one else can. These make me weep too:

I love The Rose but I'd never heard Hello In There - and it's just made me weep too. And though I really like Bette, I prefer the original of Wind Beneath My wings by Lee Greenwood: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DgGNyYJ9tn8

Edit: Hello In There reminded me of this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTIbX6Cm9JE

Winter Shines by Chris While and Julie Matthews (with the wonderful Chris Leslie on violin). In the CD sleeve notes it says that Chris W wrote it about her ageing mother who was becoming frail and had to go into a care home for a short period of respite care. When Chris went to pick her up, she was sitting with her handbag on her knee waiting to come home, her biggest fear being that she would have to spend her last days in a rest home. Chris's voice is gorgeous, one of my favourite female voices ever.

I love the song and agree re your comment. I'm in my 50s now and still remember a couple of people who passed far too young.

    Agreed.

Re My Way. Its like a swan song in many ways. I always say I want it at my funeral but my kids always pull a face. Ha ha. I just find the song so incredibly moving and can relate to it so much.

I love Out Of Africa. In fact I love John Barry in general and I cry at his Wednesdays Child. So moving!

I just remembered a song by the Four Tops that has me crying too. A Simple Game. A real weepie for me.
