So we've had a couple of PS4 install sizes already but nothing yet for Xbox One, well display covers are making their way into stores now and Forza, Ryse and Dead Rising 3 install sizes are now known.
Dead Rising 3 - 35GB
Ryse - 47GB
Forza - 35GB

I'm actually worried about launch day for the EU users. If almost everyone will be on downloading their free game the servers will get hammered and speeds will drop!
Seriously? Can't be that fast then. My 60mbps takes about 1 hour 30 mins for a 35GB file.
We'll all come around to ur place then and download our games
If each game clocks in at around 50gb then you'd be able to get 9-10 games installed on your HDD, considering I rarely play more than 2 games at a time I'd say 500gb is more than enough. You can easily just uninstall and then reinstall/re-download the game again at a later date. I can see how 500gb would be a bit crappy for a system where downloads are the primary method of storage, but since games are still coming on discs I think 500gb is fine.
35gb for Forza has just made my decision about getting another game at launch for me though, that'll take a good 12 hours or so for me to download and I'll want something to play while it does it.
That's a 7 hour download.
Nope! Less hilarious than the 4GB Xbox 360 which can't even do the partial install of some games and the 20GB PS3 though.
Show off.
When you live out in the sticks anything over 10Mb is considered fast.
Ah sorry, I don't know if I consider 60mb amazingly fast anymore tbh. I guess it is for those on 10Mb though, 7 hours is a bit of a drag
Haha, my nephew already does that!
Well it's ok for the time being but I don't think it'll be long after launch that MS get external drives working. At least we won't have to remove the 500gb drive and anything you buy is in addition.
I have bt infinity 2 - 76M download and 16 m up.
On the 360 it take 10-15 mins to download a 1 gig demo.
On steam I get the full whack and can download 6gb in 10 mins
So it will take me about an hour if I get full whack:(
I have 2 xbox's incoming. One is for a mate at work. If I was to download his copy for him, would the game be locked to whichever gamertag was used for download, or will it just be locked to the console?
So I clicked on the link and looked at forza. One of the pics has marina circuit. Looks like this, looks like the f1 circuit:D Pic should be on the 2nd row.

Those 3 games will take up around 110 gig, all of a sudden, 500 isn't looking all that big!!
The Xbox One website has a disclaimer stating that "Xbox One system software uses a significant amount of storage; less internal storage will be available to users".
As expected then, but the choice of the word "significant" could be telling. Their 3-OS-in-one approach isn't going to be small.
Thankfully you can use your own harddrives (which aren't that expensive)
My God, great catch! I'm not sure if anyone else has caught onto that.
(Already have 1 for my wiiu!)
I know you can use external storage but its a far less tidy solution (Extra wires, For 3.5" drives an extra socket is needed) & from my experience external HDD's are far more prone to damage than internal one's.
I've had a couple external drives fail in one way or another (Died completely, Data loss, Even had 1 format itself), Never had an internal drive fail on me.
I also still hate this idea of simply deleting one game to play/install another. I want my entire game library to be there ready for me to play any game I want, Whenever I want to play it.
Its a part of why I still prefer physical copies, With physical you have your entire library of games on your shelf ready to be played any time you want.
With digital if your constantly having to delete 1 game to install the next your entire games library isn't there so if you suddenly want to play an older game (As I often do) your then have to re-download/install it & in order to do that need to delete something else.
Completely negates the point of having a games library.
Same with everything now sadly, I don't buy movies digitally via netflix or whatever, Buy everything on DVD & BluRay so that my entire library of games/movies/music are all on my shelf ready for me to play at any time I want, Instantly. Much better than this digital install/uninstall don't own anything nonsense!
Well the way I look at it is at least the digital games you have on your external drive will be fully portable, that's big plus. No backing up/copying your old HDD over to your new one if you don't decide to upgrade day 1 and the internal 500gb won't be put to waste.
If it is the yas marina circuit then maybe there will be night time races added on later? This is the track with the lit up hotel? Anyway on the forza forums no one is mentioning it, so it prob isn't. They are quoting dan greenwalt as saying this is the week that they spill the beans, so hopefully all questions will be answered.
FYI, external USB storage is not available at launch - will be patched in later.
Also, another FYI - if you have a friend who owns a physical copy of a game you want to buy digitally, you can borrow his copy to install locally. Then once you handed back the disk to him you can go onto XBL to purchase the game, and that game will then use that installed content from the physical media to work.
A good workaround if your internet connection is slow maybe?
Seems we're getting another half finished system! ... The X1 & PS4 are continuing the trend started by the WiiU!
Great stuff!!!

Also the day one update is 500mb and he has a 65mb d/l speed and had it done in 2 mins. Hope this holds up come launch day.
I'm happy to see some of the sizes a little bit smaller than i's hoped for. You could probably fit every launch title on a 500gb drive.
Just hope they patch in external drive support soon, so i don't have to worry about space.
