Sing a song slagging off the rest of Europe, but sing it in regional dialects so strong that overseas countries won't realise the insults being hurled.
Sung to the tune of Jake The Peg.....

We need a song that will make people sing a long and dance. We need something original and fresh, not some old fashioned eurotrash with lyrics that don't make any sense.

We either need something that stands out from the crowd eg "Lordi" or we need a well known singer / band with a decent song to be our entry but whether any well known top act would ever do it I doubt it.

Might as well have Frank Sidebottom doing the live test card for next years song. Can't do any worse than recent years and has the added bonus of not giving Andrew Lloyd Webber another self promotion jaunt at public expense.

I am perennially amazed that a band that is popular in the UK but not Europe doesn't take the chance of appearing on Eurovision and being plugged to 100million+ viewers.

bands like Sugababes, Girls Aloud, even Take That are big here, but don't sell massively abroad. I don't get why their records labels don't take such a chance for wider fame.

We could always try something we haven't done in 13 years and enter a good song. That might work.

    MUSE or RADIOHEAD

I could name a ton of others too, but I'd be here all night.

A song in tune, either the main singer making the notes or the backing artists (who I think ruined the UK entry this year). Either way, it's fundamental.

We may think Europeans are stupid (as if we're not part of Europe ourselves) but I think they're usually switched on. Mind you, that does make me wonder how Bjork Van Dyke won...

Chris Morris should reprise his "Fur Q" character and sing "Uzi Lover'.

    I disagree

in the last few years we've put in joke entries (Jemeni, Daz Simpson, Scooch) dull entries (Andy Abraham, whoever tonight's nonentity was, James Fox) only last years was even passable in the last 10 or so years.

we can't complain when we continually put in such dross

True, but your average european wouldn't, hence the reason it missed the final. It would have got 12 points from the UK though.

Some countries would enter six cats yowling on a fence and their "friends" and "neighbours" would still give them 12 points

We need to enter a song that has been a hit by a global artist. If Germany can enter a song that has already been a hit round Europe then we should do the same. Lena sounded like a strangled cat sorry that is my opinion.

Well, as we all know, Gordon Brown has bankrupted the United Kingdom so probably not. However, the responsibility for funding falls on the broadcaster, so the BBC would probably have to make cuts in a few areas for a couple of years to be able to afford staging it.

And the 850 billion debt (rising by 500 million quid a day) left by that shite Brown stain. ;)

But look, let's not get political. There's nothing political about Eurovision after all!! :D

I think we should enter Paloma Faith. She has that unusual quality that would appeal to the rest of Europe.
