Terrible Corrie script tonight

After a month of being the best thing on TV it suddenly has become the worst thing on TV. The lines for Tracey are so cringeworthy I'm wondering if a 10 year old wrote this script? As for Kate Ford. Utterly terrible actress who is completely out of her depth here.

If this is what we have to look forward to then I might not be watching anymore.

When is the Corrie script not terrible?

    Ken Barlow: "Please try!"

    WTF

Ken's poem was very good, to be fair.

Carol Ann Duffy wrote that though, not the script writer.

    BEST episode in a while

I enjoyed it as well. I suppose you can't please everyone though.

But Tracey's so frustrating not being able to act anything!

Pleased to see the majority in the episode thread agree it was crap.

Tracey's line ruined her comeback IMO. :o

Good choice by the script writer to include it though.

The '2,000 year' line was the cheesiest, cringiest thing. High camp lines only work when they are genuinely funny. This line felt utterly forced, and the delivery of it was hideous. I had to hide behind a cushion it was so awful. Truly awful.

I thought the script for everyone but Tracey was fine - the problem is Tracey took up the last line in the first episode (dear me) and most of the second. It's like the writers had no idea how to write for Tracey. Certainly it was a dramatic change from what they've been writing of late.

She looked embarrassed saying that line really.

Yes quite a bit of it was cringeworthy but I did love to Gail, "your case has more holes in it than Joe's boat!" :D

I'm not a regular viewer of Corrie and the return of Tracey and the dreadful actress that plays her were enough to put me off watching part two tonight.

Her opening line was awful and the delivery not much better.

"A dramatic change" is EXACTLY the problem.

The explosion/tramcrash and aftermath have indeed been dramatic, with a lot that has been melodramatic but allowably so except for the Stape stuff which verged on farce. But the Tracy return stuff tonight was just so ludicrous it beggars description - and Deidre's exaggerated "TracyLUV" was surely deliberately post-modern ironic self-parody.

    I take it that's an example of self-parodying post-modernistic irony? :)

Possibly, or perhaps it was ironic self-parodying post-modernism.

Me and my family were creasing at some of the 'dramatic lines':D
Don't think that was the intention...

PMSL, we should really hope Carol Ann Duffy would do a better job of it that the scriptwriters or Ken! Although quite what was her motivation is curious.

I too have really been enjoying the latest episodes. The return of Tracy has ruined it for me. I have never liked Kate Ford in the role and think she is a terrible actress.

EE pooped all over Corrie tonight..Tracey's return was awful. Corrie needs a new super b*tch. Kate Ford just can't act I'm afraid.

I was so excited for Tracy's comeback but the 2000 year line made me jump out of my seat in hysterics, don't even get me started on the Nelson Mandella one!

Still loved it though, have to admit :).

Crazy stuff : she sounds more like a cartoon character than a real person.
