"A Bit of Fry & Laurie"- The Best Sketch Show Ever?

I love this show. I bought all four series on DVD a few weeks ago. Fry and Laurie work brilliantly together. It's amazingly well written and it doesn't seem dated.

My favourite sketch is called "A Discussion of Language" which appeared in series 1. The wordplay is brilliant:

Any other fans of this excellent show?

I'd say it's definately up there. I love F&L. I think the first series was good but they got into full flow in S2 & S3. S4 was a different but still had good bits.

It's a shame that GOLD don't show more of it for people to relive the genius of F&L. They sometimes show the pilot and S4 but nothing else.

I have all 4 series so can always dip in and out when I feel like it.

Anyone recall an ITV sketch show with Fry, Ben Elton, Robbie Coltrane ?

    Or maybe I imagined it.

"Best ever"? There's some really tough competition like Monty Python, Not the Nine O'Clock News, Big Train or (if you're old enough) Spike Milligan's Q series which probably inspired the lot.

Good, but not as good as Big Train, Fast Show, Absolutely or Not The Nine O'Clock news.
Is it still shown at all? - I've not seen it since first broadcast. I do like the Jeeves & Wooster repeats ITV chucks out every now and then:D

ABOF&L is definitely one of the best sketch shows IMHO.

But nothing beats Absolutely for me.

Steven and Hugh as over-dramatic businessmen trying to battle against the forces of Marjorie was always my favourite.
