I've searched but i can't see a thread for this yet. Wallace and Torode are back next week on BBC at last - the best show on TV. If there's another thread, please direct me, otherwise let's start here.

Just had a quick Google and it starts Wednesday (26th) at 9pm..Seems a late time!
Some details here..A little bit spoilery if you'd rather not know what the challenges are!

What'll it be this year? Pea puree? Mango forty seven ways? Gooseberry foam?
Bring it on!
Does seem to be a bit late, 8pm should be its best time - maybe there's some strong language or graphic scenes of wallace eating a chocolate fondant
Oh come on, you can't say that about Gregg (I presume you mean him), it wouldn't be the same. Masterchef the Professionals has already lost Roux, we can't lose the Cockney greengrocer as well.
Yes I do mean Gregg!
As far as I'm concerned he's a complete and utter waste of space on the show. He adds nothing and can be woefully ignorant of some classic dishes.
And how seriously can you take someone who can't even hold their cutlery properly as a food critic?
Sack him and give us someone like Jay Rayner!

And while I loved John Torode's Australia series, and genuinely like him as a judge, it pains me that Gregg is still clinging onto this. He's useless. He contributes nothing. You see judges in other versions of this show and you are like how is Greg still on this.
I will be glued to this forum though. You all make it brilliant.
I missed that, when did Michel leave?!
Jay Rayner would be an amazing replacement, but I like Gregg, funny how people complain about him but not John 'extremely mediocre chef' Torode.
Quite recently, and it was all about potatoes and the BBC apparently. Read about it here:

I like John. I hate watching him eat though. But at least he can hold his spoon right.
I'm serving beautiful beef on this beautiful plate with beautiful veg and a beautiful sauce to the beautiful judges on this beautiful day
The only thing that winds me up about the Australian version is their over-excitement whenever they bring a guest judge in etc. They start screaming and crying as if it's a famous musician/film star when in reality it's only someone who cooks dinner for people
As for Gregg and John, I wouldn't be too fussed if both of them left. Gregg adds nothing apart from strange noises and facial expressions and an inability to use cutlery and whenever John cooks a dish on Masterchef it never looks that appealing. There are much better chefs out there who could do a better job as a judge on Masterchef
No-one,at least he brings some humour to the show.
Exactly - as much as I like Jay Rayner et al, he gets his chance during the latter episodes, along with the other food critics. Gregg brings an everyman view to the food, whereas Rayner will say something (although very eloquently) quite contrived and almost scripted, as if he thought of something clever to say and will use it whatever the dish tastes like.
I'd get rid of fatty Campion. He's a failed chef, a failed restauranteur and he brings nothing to the table (pardon the pun).
It always amazes me just how negative the likes of Campion is, yet when they have the Michelin starred chefs on, they appraise, rather than simply slag the food off.
He always seems like eating the food is a bit of a chore, a bit beneath him, but he must do a fair bit of it. I wonder if the chefs are tempted to offer him a waffer thin mint at the end of the meal?
He used to be the restaurant critic of the London Evening Standard.
Not a great deal measured up to his high standards then either.
Have Giles Coren in his place. He's a bit of a prick too, but more watchable.
Too dangerous - do you know what it costs to clean blood and guts off a studio lighting rig these days?
