When U2 reworked One with Mary J Bilge, they became one of the first bands in history to murder their own song.
The surviving members of Queen also murdered We Will Rock You when they collaborated with Five. Freddie Mercury must have been turning cartwheels in his grave!
I absolutely adore Prince but I can't stand his version of Nothing Compares 2 U, even though he wrote it.
Oh my god! I so agree with this! She sang it in the wrong key the whole way through! Turned me off Ella a little bit but I now adore her again.
Ella was/is a great artist, but giving her an Evanescence song was the worst decision Tulisa has ever made on the show. To be fair not many artists can compete with Evanescence. It was wrong from start to finish. So was the Avril Lavigne Chop Suey cover, painful.
sorry I have to admit but that One Direction cover of Blondie's "one way or another" has ruined that for me (I understand its for Comic Relief) but its terrible!
It's not that bad. Just hated by all the snobs of rock who get angered at a ballad singer singing a rock song.
Anastacia sounds incredible in it and really pulls it off.
I really liked it, I had never heard of the song till I seen them perform it ... was this not named the worse cover in some poll a couple years ago? Im sure I read that
The Mike Flowers Pops did a slow Andy Williams style swing version of Wonderwall which I think is inspired, especially with the nostalgia for sixties derived pop culture during that time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vy1ueZf1WMQ
I love this one, but I'm not ashamed to admit it. I probably should be though.
Oh God - talking of George Michael, that reminds me of something from (I think) Whistle Test, years ago. George had been invited by Smokey Robinson to join him on stage in Harlem - I think it was for a big anniversary of the theatre there. They performed Careless Whisper and Smokey was terrible. After they'd shown the clip, the presenter (can't remember his name) said "How thrilled George Michael must have been to have flown all that way to hear Smokey Robinson murder Careless Whisper"
Don't know if its on Youtube, will have a look in a mo.
See, that's nowhere near the worst Limp Bizkit song though. You may not be aware of this but they also covered The Verve's Bittersweet Symphony, mashed up with Mötley Crüe's Home Sweet Home. Go on, give it a listen- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJyVFZhcAvk

Have to disagree completely, with both.
Leona takes Run to a new level. Her cover of Hurt is also fantastic!
