it's great that 50p man is trying to earn money rather than claim benefits, but a lot of what he sells is a rip off and takes advantage of people who can't afford to buy a whole box of a product. Same as poundland where you think you're getting a bargain with washing powder for a quid, until you realise that it's only got 5 washes worth in it. They sell to people who live day to day and can't afford to buy a standard sized product.

am glad the 50p man has got a job :)

He is back doing his '50p' thing. The 'job' was for commission which didn't make enough to live on.

Commission jobs should only be for those who do not need the money.

    Another crappy 'commission' job.

    They really should be illegal.

Along with zero hours and agency work .. an unwelcome return to Victorian working conditions

I'm proud to be on benefits. It is better than being homeless and pennyless.

I suppose if you put it like that then it has an advantage, not that it would be a choice normally for me. But the money has managed to help me keep my car on the road etc, otherwise I would have been a hermit and wouldn't go out at all apart from when DH is at home and can come with me.

The DLA has helped me go out more than I normally would.

Being able to get a taxi rather than bus or walking really helps.

If there were no people in the world, I'd go out all the time, but just going to the local shops is fraught with danger.

There's something very charismatic about her.

I envy how she seems totally at ease in herself (maybe those happy pills help a bit, but still....she has a certain confidence about her)

Too true. That is about the employers not the employees rights.

I kind of agree with you hon, I have tried to keep open minded but seriously I don't think she is serious and wants to get a job. After all she came out with that she is getting assessed for Biopolar and has her depression..

    We know that.
    The Jobcentre know that.
    The Government know that.

But it's the usual let's pretend it's a real job so that we can sanction you if you refuse it.
