Joel Grey star of Cabaret amongst other things has publicly declared hes gay aged 82,a decision fully supported by his daughter actress Jennifer Grey.
Its a shame he didnt feel ready until now but all the same its wonderful hes now at ease with himself.:)

I doubt if he was ill at ease, just sensible enough not to be too public about a career-ending announcement back in the day.
Doubt if anyone is shocked.
I dare say its been an "open secret" for a longtime.
the next thing youll be telling me Liberace was gay!
Yeah, it would likely have destroyed his career back then if he had revealed that in very homophobic times.
Good on him. He appears to have been married for 24 years so perhaps he had reached a compromise that worked for him and his family.
