I tried to find a newspaper report or a death certificate for a friend's relative who died as a Railroad Guard in New York in the 1930s. No joy as of yet.

I did a similar favour yesterday for a great-aunt, who's appointed herself as our family genealogist. She wanted to know where 'Bridge Street, Homerton' was. Since it's not listed in the current London street map, we suspect it had a name change, but I haven't had luck in finding its new name.

I hope you're able to find it. Have you tried Wiki, they often have the most obscure information?

We did find mentions of 'Bridge Street', but none offered the new name. However, a DS poster was kind enough to let me know that Bridge Street became Ponsford Street in 1938. Yay! :D Thanks.
