I knew you guys wouldn't appreciate the awesomeness of Moldova >:(
It's the best way to go out with Moldova, in a blaze of glory! I wish I'd sent Cleopatra when I had Moldova now, for all the good trying to send a decent song did me...
Ok so dropping by shortly will be the first two of our four neighbours.
Then I'll try to open SF1 tonight.
I was going to ask you about those as obviously I have 4 new songs to trim etc Can you give me heads up on both semis, when they are opening and closing and what is which semi etc, plus a heads up on the new songs?

Yes think SF1 will open tonight and close Thursday, SF2 will open tomorrow and close Friday.
Kyrgyzstan is little more than 10 miles south of our host city Almaty but the mountainous country has had troubled times in recent years, going through two revolutions, the most recent in 2010. They are making their return to DSFE for their first time since The Hague last year and in their sixth appearance are sending an artist based in Kyrgyzstan for the first time. This is Mirbek Atabekov, from Talas, just west of capital Bishkek. The song 'Aldadyn' features a bride running off on her wedding day, chased by the groom on a quad bike. What's not to like?
Uzbekistan borders Kazakhstan to the south and is one of only two doubly landlocked countries in the world, together with Liechtenstein. Ruled by controversial dictator Islam Karimov, success in DSFE is a must for their national pride so they are sending Zilola Bahodirovna Musaeva, better known as Shahzoda, to represent them in neighbouring Almaty. Also a talented actress who played a lead role in a movie, Shahzoda previously represented Uzbekistan in Reykjavik, going out in the quarter finals, and almost competed in Turkvision too. Here she is with a sad song that features a teddy bear getting run over. It's 'Yurak', or 'A Heart'.
Voting will close on Thursday September 18 at 7pm.
Please PM me your votes in traditional Eurovision style, 12, 10, 8-1. You may not vote for your own country.
Regardless of whether you have an individual or shared country in this SF, all votes are individual. Do not discuss how you will vote with anyone, including your team-mate.
Any country that does not provide me with votes will be automatically disqualified in the semi finals. In the case of shared countries, that deduction will be applied if neither player votes, ie 0/2. However I encourage both players in each shared country to vote, and I will pool your votes into one set of points, as in jury and televote at real Eurovision.
If you are not in this semi final but are in this contest, you may also vote and your votes will be included in a Rest Of The World vote.
@CAF - I did get through with my good country, but I can't believe what happened to Austria - I mean to not qualify is one thing but last?! We should've gone for Sturmer, sorry

did you really not see that coming? while watching it i was thinking to myself 'how could anyone expect this to do well?', you really screwed CAF over there
We now have a DSFE debut from China, who might seem a long way from Europe but are actually only 100 miles east of our host city Almaty. With 1.3 billion people at their disposal, China are the most populous country in the world, just ahead of the Vatican City. Attempting to take the contest to Beijing next time around is the boy band Exo-M, who are the Mandarin subset of the South Korean-Chinese supergroup Exo and are a pretty big name in Asia. Here is their song 'Overdose'.
Kazakhstan is bordered in the very south west of the country by Turkmenistan, beside the Caspian Sea. Mostly covered by the Karakum desert, Turkmenistan was ruled for 21 years by Saparmurat Niyazov, who was known as 'His Excellency Saparmurat Turkmenbaşy, President of Turkmenistan and Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers' and was President for Life until he died in 2006. In DSFE, Turkmenistan are more famous for the frankly awful Sen Sen which they sent way back in Malmo. This time they are represented by Myahri, who is from the capital Ashgabat and who reached the semi finals for Turkmenistan on their last appearance in DSFE in The Hague last year.
