Vet Prescriptions

I'm in Sheffield and I have the same regular medication for my dog's eyes all year around.

Now, they charge me 17.50 for this prescription, which makes it exactly the same as it would be online. So in other words, the vet does nothing beyond a moment's work and still gets the same profit as they would if they had dispensed the treatment.

Now, can I get a prescription anywhere that's cheaper? I think a fiver is a reasonable amount for a repeat prescription and I'm honestly tired of getting ripped off by the vets for a product I certainly don't need my dog looking at after all these years.

Thanks in advance :)

Like doctors, vets aren't allowed to keep giving repeat prescriptions without seeing the animal regularly (according to my vets website, every 3 months at most), so you're probably paying a consultation fee within that £17.50 (which isn't a bad price). As for the medicine, you might be able to get it cheaper online at somewhere like Hyperdrug, but you'll still need the prescription.
