    Hi Saturn :)
I am lucky to find Bargains every single time I go to Morrisons
    On a weekday If I go shopping = I would mostly arrive anytime between 6pm - 8pm
    and
if I go on a Sunday - I would usually arrive at about 2pm

    The cheapest
    9p bread
would only be in the last hour or so before closing times
The 19p or 9p bags of various salady items would be from about 5-30pm- 6pm onwards on weekdays & Saturdays
or an hour or so before closing on Sundays

You can get many bread items reduced to about half price anytime from about 4pm onwards -

Mainly the bulk of the biggest reductions come in the 1 or 2 hours before closing

The £5 chickens are reduced if there are any left in the last 45mins or so
or during ANY day :- they can be reduced to about £1-99 if they have been on display for maybe over 3 hours from being roasted

I once bought 3 Hot Roasted chickens - each reduced to 19p :p

The ready meals and chilled items can be marked down to 9p about
    an hour before closing
but most times you can find various chilled items marked down a fair bit -

I have found many Quality Meat products and many Signature products greatly reduced - usually a bit earlier in the evenings - often by later in the evening they will have all been grabbed

I have got many fish items reduced in the last hour
such as 2 bags of Mussels - which have to be sold and go for less than half price

I rarely buy cakes - but recently I have got some yummy ones which was in the last hour There are often some there ~ being reduced in the last few hours

Once in a while I have been there
early on Sundays and the chiller section was stacked with goodies
and once in a while I have been there at **1pm on a weekday** and found loads of mainly chilled food cheapies then too

Sometimes I have filled a whole large trolley with greengrocery items @ for 19p
and the same from the bread section

I often buy about 20 bagged salad items >>>> in one go :o
which means I have to get chomping on them fast
so that non go to waste :o:p = :o eating at least 4 bags each day
or adding some of them to casseroles etc

Last Sunday at 4pm I was just leaving
and the girls at the customer care desk called out that they had sandwiches all for 9p [ originally £1.79 each ]

I only bought 2 as I would have eaten them all - and that would have bumped up my calories too much ;-)
Mine were Quality & delicious = thick dark rye with chicken pieces in a lemon herby dressing
Hope you get lucky too Saturn x

I'm seriously going to jump in on this buying marked-down groceries thing. I tend to waste an awful lot of food that I buy as having two jobs and in uni I'm rarely at home to eat and make use of it all. I tend to eat on-the-go a lot.
I've just bought some reduced prepared fruit as I intend on bringing out my Nutri Bullet from the back of the cupboard. It wasn't reduced by all that much in Tesco, though. I think I shall give your tips a go, ChoccyCarole.

    Hi boozer3 :)
That is great news - I hope you find great bargains too and reduce much of the surplus spending / & waste
I think getting your Nutribullet out and putting it to good use is fabulous :)
I think they are one of the best handy appliances to have - up and ready - in your kitchen
The nutritious amazing combos you can create are endless

I made one batch into soup the other day - as I microwaved the blitzed up mix in a big shallow bowl in the microwave for 3 mins -:p nice with bread or toast and butter - :p

Some people take their Nutribullet away >>>>>>>> on their travels :p

I always have to :( restrict buying lots more fabulous bargains :(
as I have rarely got much spare space for much new stuff to fit into my freezer -
so I only buy * a limited amount * of some the great bargains
I Only buy stuff - IF I think I will be able to fit it in the freezer or the fridge
or if I think I will be able to eat everything time - before anything spoils

I will usually re - bag many items in order to fit them all in the freezer
as the original packagings takes up far too much space

I will also divide certain foods up into individual portion sizes
Putting things into cheapie sandwich bags
which can often be put into much smaller spaces in the freezer :p
The freezer is packed with my big batches of homemade meals
    >>>>> cooled then flattened out into many sandwich bags

I think my ALL my foods bills would be about an Extra £20 - £25 - * if not More *
    >>>>> IF I paid the ~ FULL / normal price for everything ~

I hope you get very lucky on your shopping adventures too x

PS = I am tempted to go out to Morrisons very soon - which is very early for me to go
---- because it is already a cold grim and damp day :( and it's getting dark already :o

so that non go to waste :o:p = :o eating at least 4 bags each day
or adding some of them to casseroles etc

Last Sunday at 4pm I was just leaving
and the girls at the customer care desk called out that they had sandwiches all for 9p [ originally £1.79 each ]

I only bought 2 as I would have eaten them all - and that would have bumped up my calories too much ;-)
Mine were Quality & delicious = thick dark rye with chicken pieces in a lemon herby dressing
Hope you get lucky too Saturn x

Thanks for replying in such detail! I do have a local Morrisons actually. They have a marked down section but i've never seen anything so cheap. Maybe I have to check all the other aisles :) Usually when they put stuff onto it it's announced over the tannoy and there's a stampede towards it :D

Never thought that about their ready cooked chickens! I suppose it's unsafe to keep them warm for too long.

I need to work on my food wastage as I buy far too much in for two people and a lot of it ends up in the bin. Even some of the long life stuff ends up expiring
