If you like The Snowman, you will probably also enjoy The Little Reindeer, which is on CITV at 10.30 this morning.

How did people celebrate Christmas without The Snowman??

To me it wouldn't be Christmas without a showing of this film! :D

At least Channel 4 saw sense by bringing The Snowman back to Christmas Eve (rather than showing it on Christmas Day) a couple of years ago.

Christmas wouldn't be the same without it!! :D

I will be recording it. Another tradition of mine is always to listen to the Festive of Nine Lessons and Carols on Radio 4 at 3pm. Can't miss either at any Christmas.

Seems that Ch4 aren't showing 'Father Christmas' this year, though (or I can't find it in the TV mag). :(

We have the DVD with both shows on, but its still nice to have it on TV, this time of year - and think it was shown christmas morning last year.

Our 5 year old likes both, but prefers 'Father Christmas'.

This is a dilemma of mine. I may wait for the TV broadcast of the Carols (blasphemy I know!)

Father Christmas is underrated compared to The Snowman but it's still a Christmas classic and it's really a shame it's been missed out this year.

I'll be watching The Snowman though. It's not Christmas without it.

Me and my mum LOVE the snowman. My mum collects all little bits and pieces she can find from it.

Does anyone also remember a lovely little 25min adaptation back in 2003 called 'a small miracle'? it was based on a book by Peter Collington and it's about a beggar woman who has no money, food etc and the nativity comes to life and helps her? it was so nice, i managed to get the video in the end. Such lovely stories, i also like father christmas too!

    Moly:

Call it a second childhood(I am 36), but I am the same.

This month, I have bought the cassette tape and book from a charity shop (50p and 10p) and today bought the DVD Special Edition from Zavvi for £2.99.

I do/will always enjoy it myself, but The Snowman is one classic I want to pass on to my children/grandchildren, so I have bought the above items, and will keep them until such times arise.

ayrshire man, that is exactly what my mother did, she brought bits from charity shops, in fact, i think we have like four different snowman videos. The one in the blue box type case, a normal one with the proud snowman on the cover, and a few others.

Also, last year, my mum brought me the snowman and father christmas on dvd. I don't know if anyone knows but in covent garden in london there was a shop called the beatrix potter shop, and in xmas 04 i want there and they were selling snowman memoribilia and i brought a snowman shaker, placements, coasters, a fluffy big snowman toy and a snowman orniment, the whole lot wasn't far off of £50, but it was worth it if you love it like my family does. Well me and my mum anyway. I loved the snowman's opening today with father christmas, i think that one is on the dvd i have.

Nobody else annoyed by the fact they've now zoomed it in.. to make it widescreen.. and cut the top & bottom of the picture off ??

AND.. I'd love to see it with the Bowie intro back on.
