My wife and I spent a week there recently. The clue about getting warm there refers to the thermal baths in the town, which were fantastic by the way!
Presumably all the Bad or Baden places have or had spas. I was wondering why Baden-Baden seemed to be named twice, but apparently it's Baden in the state of Baden, and I suppose the double name also helps to distinguish it from other places called Baden or Bad.
I don't have a picture to post at the moment, so anyone else is welcome to do so.
But where on Mars? By that standard we can all answer Earth for the usual piccies.
Well, the terrain in the foreground is the rock outcrop “Jibsheet”. The floor of Gusev crater is visible in the distance, and the Sun is setting behind the wall of Gusev some 80 kilometres (50 miles) in the distance.
I thought that was pretty obvious, really, and I didn't feel that it needed to be said!

I haven't been in Edinburgh for quite a long time, but I assume the red and white is the barriers associated with the dreaded tram works.

:):):):) Gold Smilies are hereby awarded to Forum Member Sigurd. I'm impressed and well done! It was indeed the deserts of Mars.

PS: I can cut and paste as well as anyone!
Anybody need another clue?
It's on mainland Europe but the Atlantic, not the Med......that should narrow down the countries somewhat :)
Ah no, you said mainland Europe. I'll try Nantes then.
Not Nantes.....sorry. Still quite a distance off.
It is a seaside holiday town but only slightly away from the sea!
It is also not a big city!
Yes, a bit closer, but you still need to go some way downwards.......and it's not Spain so that should REALLY help you!!
Sorry Honestweegie, the Czech Republic is nowhere near and not on the Atlantic!
Well done Toots, correct.......photo taken a year ago.....
