The lag issues I suspect is due to insufficient memory to run JB and the host of apps. Try clearing the backstack of apps in memory by holding down the Home key and swiping away the apss you're not currently using. It should free up some memory and reduce the lag.
Yeah I think you're right
Clearing the running apps does help for a short while. But they soon all open back up quickly
Sticking with Gingerbread here, too - mate has identical Galaxy to my own, Jellybean just screwed it up royally. Half his apps stopped working, or took an age to start up or close, etc. Media player kept hanging on him.
Problem is I'd quite like Jellybean as the BBC I-Player app needs JB or above. Even BBC radio (via the net) won't play on Gingerbread..still, rather have a stable phone and a wish-list than a brick.
Lol the bbc iplayer hasn't worked for months on either of my devices running Jelly Bean.
Still running JB on my Ace 2 and not had any real problems with it, I don't really do anything like streaming video on my phone but I've not noticed any issues with the phone lagging at all in normal day to day use.
Anybody else receive an OTA firmware update today? It says it will give improved stability. I've not installed it yet, I'm currently running 4.1.2 Jellybean.

Just installing it now on two phones, both running JB,( both ace2s)
its about 40mb
doesnt take long, both done OTA
Got a ... Optimising apps .... message after update loaded and reboot.
Cant see anything different yet.
Will this be worth that's the question. My Ace 2 hasn't been brilliant in the way of performance since the Jelly Bean update in the summer. Everyday I wish I kept it on Gingerbread now. I could put it back yes but don't dare risk it, always seem to mess things up so don't want to do the same to my phone as well.

Can't you doit through Kies?
not sure. never done it.
sorry
Is this legit? Would it be better if I backed up my phone & then do a factory restore instead?
its the only way.
it may invalidate your warranty. but im not 100% sure.
a factory restore will just give you a fresh install of jellybean, it wont revert it back to gingerbread.
Same here, both ours working fine
Just waiting for the 4.3 upgrade, resisting using roms for the moment!
