IF Charlie was Sonja's kid and somehow died as a result of her druggie lifestyle then MAYBE Stefan was concerned that something similar could happen to Veronika's kids so he stitched up Soren and found Veronika and the little 'uns a place in the country

It was they way Stefan wanted Veronika in the house alone. He wanted the kids to stay outside. Found that a little bit creepy. But then again the guy's heart might be in the right place.

    PS
Charlie and his exploding pipe. Isn't that a Noggin the Nog episode?:D:D

As has been said before a lot of the actors in The Bridge will have appeared before in at least one of:

Either of the Swedish Wallanders, The Killing and/or Borgen

Those Who Kill also. Kim Bodnia played Jakov in Eye for an Eye.

    Hiya RP:):)

Stefan provoked Veronika's husband and then put the cops onto him after he attacked the car. He then took V to the house for safety or.....

Stefan's sister? I thought it was some kind of Nursery Rhyme she kept repeating. Stefan knew it as well so could connect with her. Maybe our Swedish/Danish experts can sort that out for us. Never occurred to me Charlie was a real person. Interesting.

    Hi BK. :)

I've been reading some of the posts. Haven't got very far.:o :p

Veronika's husband shouted at Stefan that he's had enough of both of them (after he smashed Stefan's car) which made me wonder whether Stefan has been splitting them apart on purpose. Not really sure how or why...but he's succeeded and now he's got Veronika to himself.

I'll have to watch the ending again to try and make sense of the puddle scene.

Don't fire exits open outwards in the UK as well?

Yes, That's what I noticed. He also wants to stop her children seeing their dad. I didn't like that.

Didn't he take Veronika's phone and put it in his pocket?

Maybe we're supposed to suspect him...at the moment.;)

Yes they do. Exterior doors of houses, flats etc open inwards. Interior room doors usually open into the room.

Fire exits are a safety thing. If you have a crowd trying to exit they burst open. Hard to pull doors inwards if there is a rush to get out.

If Stefan is a goodie and was abused with Sonja as a kid, it may explain why he wanted to help Veronika out. I think he is too heavily built to be the killer though. He's a big lad;):D:D

But we shall see. Fun isn't it?

    PS
Missed the phone bit. Was that at the secluded house, or earlier on?

A pile of snow means the door can't open! I'm still going with fire regs.

The couple ay the hospital : are they only losely linked to the plot? To show what can be achieved if you have money, but their presence doesn't add anymore than that?

Maybe they just have better locks than is traditional in Britain. Opening outwards makes doors harder to "kick down" from the outside, i.e. break the lock on.

Cheers TL. Found it on iPlayer. He takes her phone but says later there is a mobile for her. So is that to stop her husband trying to get in contact with her. She still has a phone to use.

Stefan went to the Social and told one of his co-workers that Veronika had been given a secret address. Could she register it. So I assumed that he did the lotion thing at his own place, and the safe house is in the country somewhere?

40.12 episode.1 - along the path before entering the secluded house. BUT once inside he tells her that she 's got a new mobile. So, maybe not a baddie after all, although you never can tell.

Watching it again I've realised I missed a few scenes, namely Stefan naked, the cream and the scars similar to his sister's.
I must have dozed off at that bit.

Did the person who abused them cause their itching and scarring, do you think?

Edit - tealady beat me to it.:D

Have to go - will catch up later.:)

Perhaps the man had an affair with the top half of the woman who was found on the bridge.
    I don't know why, but I feel there's a connection there.

Highly recommend at least two viewings.....the humour becomes more noticeable and easier to 'dial into'....................................................................though you also notice just how bonkers it all is more IMHO.

I think I'm loving it now..........it's not quite Spartacus but hey ho that's on holiday.:D

A woman I once met on holiday told me that doors which open outwards are safer as they are more difficult to force open from the outside.

Makes sense but you don't see many.

She was VERY safety conscious - a bit OTT I thought!

She always requested this when she stayed in hotels. In Pakistan all the doors in the hotel opened outwards. That's why the topic came up. I don't normally discuss forcing doors open with women I've just met!!

He took the phone at the secluded house.

When he looked a bit dodgy as they both went into the secluded house and left the kids outside I did wonder if we were watching something that had happened in the past and he was going to do her in.

Is it possible that some of the scenes are in the past and this will become apparent later? May be too complicated but, if done well, would potentially explain some things.

    I wondered the same.

But in the first ep we see Veronika. She is in her flat. There is a report on the radio saying the police have closed the bridge. She then phones Stefan. Who we see with the bridge in the background. You can see all the flashing police lights on the bridge. So I think the Stefan Veronika timeline is current. Next she meets him at the Social with the kids. She has her short skirt on- I think it's the same she had on at the safe house.

    PS
V has a nice big 4x4 to say she is skint!

Cheers. I didn't pick up on that. I'm going to have to watch the repeats...

Can't take everything in with reading the sub-titles.

To me, this is almost as good as TK2 - music excepted.

I'm looking forward to the next episodes far more than I did with Borgen and Spiral.

My Uncle lives next door to some suspected drug growers/dealers and they had all their external doors re-fitted so that they all open outwards, probably so the Police can't bash them in !

For an affair, it would have to be the bottom half.....

I like the music on here. But nothing can beat Pernille's theme for me. And TK's end credit music gives me goosebumps even now.

Do Saga & Martin rival Lund & Bananaman as the best Scandi cop duo? Maybe not. But they are very good together. And after only two eps as well.
