It's being reported that a member of the convervative party has been caught trying to sell access to the PM for £250,000

    One would assume that the PM and Chancellor would be complicit in the scheme. After all, you wouldn't have just anyone to dinner for no particular reason would you?

    Poor Cam, his week is getting worse.

    £250k, that's serious cash.

    Who could afford that sort of money?

    I'm assuming they are not doing it for charity...

    Or as a theme park attraction....

    Reform the way parties are funded now. They are getting to close to business, that's why the tax man waives there bills sometimes. He's in trouble now and will need to step down. This is business, not just Government.

    I reckon this is going to lift the lid off why the Tories are implementing various policies andthe method of how they 'distribute' the various private contracts....

    Well yes, he is giving them a menu, but he's not receiving money personally, which is what 'sold access' implies.

    If David Camerons defence is that Cruddas was making such promises of practically selling official government policy/law in return for party donations without permission then Cruddas is gone.

    And that can be the only defence. So Cruddas is gone.
    The problem will be if such requests from party donors were actually heard by the "policy committee" at number 10.

    In which case... what possible defence could there be? It's corruption plain and simple.
