    No chance of that happening

Emma Watson's idea of a breakdown would probably be not using the correct sequence of forks at a candlelight supper.

I think the squeaky-clean good-girl image is really just an identity the media clings onto because there isn't anyone else her age that fits the stereotype. I'm sure she's had her fair shares of student mishaps (and by all accounts her friendship group at Brown's was a questionable bunch); she just has a very good team behind her to protect that stuff from making headlines.

YES shes got a posh English accent, but is nt that a plus ?
( it never did Joanna Lumley any harm )
there ll be movies coming up, maybe a Virginia Woolf biog,
or a posh movie set in Oxford, another Royal movie..

who knows ? even a remake of Rebecca ?
    she just cant lose !

    Very true;-)

Not true actually. She wouldn't have made it into films if she wasn't a good actress. Anyway, what you think isn't a good actress, others out there might disagree with you.

She's an average actress in my opinion. I find every scene she does forced.
Agree, I'd acutally go so far as to say, she is not a very convincing actress at all.

She's a terrible actress!! She struck lucky when she was cast in the HP movies but she has almost zero talent.

And yet she's successfully made it into the film business.

A business which is more about looks, big name and youth than about acting ability.

So the same could be said for:

    Tom Cruise
    Nicole Kidman
    Sandra Bullock
    Keanu Reeves
    etc

That has been true for the last 100 years, why should it change now? If anything Western society in general is becoming even more obsessed with youth and beauty.

Indeed. There are places I go to see first rate acting. They rarely have big screens.

They're still very good actors/actresses so in fact, I haven't fully proved your point at all. The film industry wouldn't get someone who was very good looking and hopeless at acting. Tom Cruise has brought in loads at the cinemas so he must be doing something right with his acting. The film industry is all about a balance between good looks and good acting.

On the back of the Harry Potter films, that she was cast in when young, she just can't act, and just has one type posh voice.

At least she doesn't flash her tits at every opportunity like some failed "actresses" (Helen Flanagan springs to mind)

    Of course not....

And don't say she didn't plan this to be seen....

Lovely to see that you would wish that upon somebody...

As far as I'm aware I did not rub my magic lamp and wish for anything of the sort.:D

In fact I would not rub my magic lamp over her if she was the last female in the world.

just my HO but TC is a dreadful actor who i have grown 'used to' as i know what to expect.

KR picks great films to be in, yet they are great despite the fact that he is in them, not because he is in them.

SB other than the miss congeniality films has done nothing to interest me.

NK has done nothing to interest me.

but they are all quite pretty/easy on the eye. EW is the same to me.

in the words of THHGTTH 'Mostly Harmless'

Must admit, the only reason why I went to see Noah last night was to see Emma Watson.

The film was pants. I got my dose of Emma :)

Keira Knightley must be worried, there only room for one stick-thin posh bird who can't act.

Well maybe she might find someone who posts responses of three single-syllabled words to threads not too stimulating.
