30 Years of Solar Radio

At the end of the year it marks 30 years since Solar Radio came on the air as a London Pirate station after a raid on Horizon radio a few days before.
I remember I must of been one of its 1st listeners having put on my radio on the Sunday night to hear music start up again on the old Horizon frequency of 102.5 thinking it was Horizon & then hearing the Solar jingles going out.
I now as a 44 year old no longer live in London , but still listen just about everyday up here in Norfolk. I would like to thank Tony,Clive etc for a great soul station these last 30 years.

    Good post. I used to listen to them in early 1985 whenever LWR on 92.5 seemed to fall silent. I remember tuning in to what I thought was solar radio one summer morning driving to work to find that after 5 miles of listening the jingles announced the station was TKO!

    I still have the solar radio t-shirt I bought from the time though.
