With a surname like 'strike' you can just imagine him on holiday with the lads telling all the birds 'three strikes and you're out' in a cocksure fashion
Don't know why it annoyed me but it did a little bit. Why do straight actors playing gay characters need a special 'shout-out'? Also, Sam Strike is what... about 18? How on earth does this writer know if he's definitely straight? Is that a conversation they would have had? Just a weird tweet all round.

Most people perceive the coming out stuff as pure hell but actually when you're a teenager, there's something quite exciting about delaying it and letting people wonder.:) I'm sure Sam Strike would agree.

Whatever his sexuality, I'm sure a teenage boy with a picture of My Own Private Idaho as his background header isn't all that interested in being defined. Something which Daran Little presumably hasn't understood.

Hopefully people will keep off the kid's back. No pun intended. He is generating an enormous amount of interest. He's getting hysterical tweets from the One Direction demographic begging for a follow.

I can't really blame them. He's a total cutie and I'm pretty sure if Twitter had been around when Jack Ryder first joined Eastenders as Jamie I'd have been equally as insatiable.

A performer needs to generate mystery to have the best effect. This is the downside of twitter. It's a melting pot for psychosis.
There's a screenshot of the tweet. Of course she could just be calling him a **** as a brother/sister thing but I dunno like. Praying Sam is on my team anyway
I actually think from what I've seen that Sam's approach to the twitter thing is pretty good and how I would probably deal with it. He doesn't seem to reply to people he doesn't know and this 'crazed' fans begging to be followed.
Like others said, twitter is a damaging source regarding mystery which helps create an enigma of a character.
Whether he's gay, straight, bi or lesbian (:p) I really think this is someone whose acting abilities should be recognized first and foremost.

I think she meant '****' as in a negative term. You know the term 'gay' is used as a put down by kids these days.

Oh I totally agree with that. Which is why I've been quite impressed with Sam on Twitter so far, and which is why I'm so distinctly unimpressed with Daran Little.
What puzzles me even more so is some tweets to Sam or about the storyline, for example was something like "How do you feel about playing a gay character? not many would do it, you're brave",
I really thought the world had made progress regarding reactions to homosexuals and just the gay community in general but some tweets are kinda weird. Very Victorian.

Thanks. I guess Sam didn't reply then? It might be an in-joke between them, I suppose. Whatever the context it doesn't come across well, but I'm going to reserve judgement. He seems like a good kid to me.
I feel bad really for starting this thread because it does look kinda shallow, but it was a genuine question because it's the first time that there's been a young gay storyline etc

That reminds me. What happened to Tyler ?
He and Anthony got jobs on a cruise ship. I'm still hoping for news that it sinks and they drown.
The tweet in question:
Daran Little @DaranLittle 1h
Big kudos to the straight actors who've taken on gay roles I've written. @BrunoLangley @officialolivier @thejamessutton @SamStrike & others

Then his sister is an idiot.
When was this? Could we have the tweet (and Sam's reply if he did reply) posted on here please?

I've lost all respect for Daran Little.
