Seems a trivial police hunt to me, an incident of vandalism. Makes me wonder if Stagecoach release CCTV photographs of every passenger's misdemeanour.
I took one of my cats to the vet's by bus the other week, on a hot day. He howled all the way there and back, each time on a packed bus. A man said he thought I had a baby. Worse still the cat shat, vomited and peed in his box, it was all over the cushion inside and himself, and it smelt bad. In a way I was glad people might think it was a baby, and perhaps the nappy needing changing. I've never been more glad to get off a bus in my life.
There might be a video out for me now, "police are hunting a strange man on a bus who kept a baby prisoner in a pet carrier".
"refrain from eating and drinking items which make the environment unpleasant for other customers or otherwise cause offence". It does not address the question of eating bits of the bus.
There you go then, if they don't want you to eat your seat they should put clear signs up!

Would you go up to some nutter who was tucking into a seat? Hopefully they'd try and stop him if he was hurting someone, but seeing as the bus seat was the only casualty they probably figured it wasn't worth the hassle.
Stagecoach will have to change its rules to include, eating parts of bus forbidden, for up to now, anyone can do it. lol The writer of that article is quite a comic and should be on telly, with his the police chewed over the evidence, or whatever word was used. Yep, get that writer on the telly. :D
